This invention relates to lavatories, bidets and the like.

The known kinds of lavatories and bidets connected with the discharge pipe by means of a metal siphon are frequently clogged.

To overcome this objection the invention provides a lavatory and bidet having a siphon that forms a unit with the basin.

By way of example, the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of a lavatory and Fig. 2, a similar section of a bidet.

Referring to the drawing, the basin l is laterally and on the front side provided with a re- 1 inforcement 2 having a cavity 3. The Wall 4 of the lavatory is fixed to the wall of a room. The channel 5 is surrounded by the rear wall 6 which forms a partition 1 in the siphon 8 in the lower part of the basin. The siphon 8 is integral with the basin vI and provided with a smooth and slightly bent channel having considerable clear width. On the bottom of the basin 1 a conical outlet 9 is found which forms the valve seat and is fitted with a strainer I0. To prevent the water from overflowing an opening I l is provided in the rear wall, through which the water after reaching a predetermined height in the basin passes into the channel 5 and thence through the siphon 8 into the discharge piping.

The siphon 8 has in the rear a discharge channel which possesses a clean-out opening closed at the top by a plug 12. By means of a packed cap nut [3 the discharge channel is connected with the discharge piping l4 surrounded on the Wall by a rosette l5, as shown in Fig. l. The lavatory is supported by brackets or the like. 5

Instead of the formerly used metal outlet valve, which is easily attacked by verdigris and becomes black, a smooth closable valve seat 9 is provided, which can be shut ofi by a rubber stop-' per and is cast in one piece with the basin from 10 the same material. All passages in the lavatory or bidet are smoothly glazed, broad and have easy bends and transitions. The clean-out opening closed at the top by a plug [2 facilitates the cleaning of the siphon 8. 1

The normal water level is indicated by broken lines in Fig. 1.

The siphon cast with the basin in one piece from the same material as the latter may be used also for other equipment hitherto provided with 20 a metal siphon.

I claim:

A lavatory or bidet, wherein the siphon forms a unit with the basin and is cast from the same material as the latter, the top portion of the dis- 25 charge channel of the siphon being provided with a clean-out opening and a plug disposed above the water level of the siphon for closing said clean-out opening.
