To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AUGUST VOGEL, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Purse, of which the following is a specification:

In the accompanying drawing, Figures l and 2 are perspective views of my improved' purse, showing it, respectively, with a transverse dividing partition and without the same.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

The object of this invention is to furnish a pocket-purse for silver and other coins in which the larger and smaller coins may be .stored and kept apart in convenient manner,

in separate sections or pockets, the purse being woven throughout on the loom in one continuous piece; and the invention consists of a purse woven throughout on a loom with a longitudinal center slit or openin g, and with transverse closing end bars, and with or without a partition transversely to the slit, by which the purse is divided into sections or pockets.

. Referring to the drawings, A represents a money-purse of that kind in which the pockets are formed at both ends and closed by means of sliding rings, and into which the money is inserted through a slit or opening at the middle portion of the purse.

My improved purse is woven throughout on the loom, and the opening or slit B either formed in one of the edges of the purse, or preferably midway between and parallel to the edges. Both ends ofthe purse are closed by means of transverse bars C, that form the pockets, and are trimmed oii' or finished in suitable manner.

A partition, D, is formed transversely to the slit or opening, and centrally between the end pockets ofthe purse, consisting of cross-bars similar to those at the ends. These cross-bars of the partition are woven together with the slit directly on the loom, so that the purse can be manufactured in cheaper manner than the knitted purses at present in use. The purse has also the advantage of being divided by the transverse center partition into two independent pockets, so as to admit the convenient taking out of the coins at the center partition or pushing the ring back to any point on the purse.

The purse may be woven of wool, or partly of wool and partly of silk, or of other material, and trimmed and ornamented in any suitable manner, 4as taste and fancy may direct, and thereby a neat, cheap, and durable purse for coins of all kinds furnished.

Having thus described my invention. I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. A money-purse woven throughout on the loom, with longitudinal center slit or openin g and transverse closing end bars, substantially as shown and described.
