- The disclosure relates to seating assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new seating assembly allowing athletes to rest in a temperature controlled environment.
- The prior art relates to seating assemblies. Prior art temperature modulated seating assemblies may comprise a heating unit, a cooling unit, a seat, and one or more panels.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an enclosure having a seating unit positioned therein. The seating unit is configured to seat multiple users. A heating and cooling unit is engaged to the enclosure and is configured to control a temperature within the enclosure.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric perspective view of a temperature controlled seating assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 6 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new seating assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 6 , the temperature controlledseating assembly 10 generally comprises anenclosure 12, which has aseating unit 14 positioned therein and a heating andcooling unit 16 engaged thereto. Theenclosure 12 comprises aframe 18, which has a plurality ofpanels 20 engaged thereto to define an interior space 22. Theframe 18 is substantially rectangularly box shaped. Thepanels 20 are substantially transparent, thus allowing users inside theenclosure 12 to view events occurring outside of theenclosure 12, and persons proximate to theenclosure 12 to see inside theenclosure 12. - The
enclosure 12 has anopening 24 positioned in afront 26 thereof. Theopening 24 is configured to allow users to enter and to exit theenclosure 12. Adoor 28 is engaged to theframe 18 and is configured to selectively close theopening 24. Thedoor 28 is substantially transparent. - The
seating unit 14 is configured to seat multiple users. Theseating unit 14 may comprise abench 30, which is coupled to theframe 18 and extends from aback 32 of theenclosure 12. Thebench 30 extends from proximate to opposedends 34 of theenclosure 12. As shown inFIG. 6 , thebench 30 is configured to seat multiple users, such as the eight athletes pictured. The present invention anticipates theseating unit 14 comprising other seating means, such as chairs, stools, and the like. - The plurality of
panels 20 comprises aroof panel 36, which is pitched toward theback 32 of theenclosure 12 and thus configured to shed water. Theframe 18 has a 10 plurality ofholes 38 positioned therein, proximate to theroof panel 36 and theback 32 of theenclosure 12. Theholes 38 are configured to drain water from theroof panel 36. - The heating and
cooling unit 16 is configured to control a temperature within theenclosure 12, thus allowing the users, such as the athletes pictured inFIG. 6 , to rest in a temperature controlled environment. The heating andcooling unit 16 may be engaged to theframe 18 proximate to theroof panel 36, or may be alternatively positioned, such as, but not limited to, proximate to thefront 26 of theenclosure 12 and theroof panel 36, and between theseating unit 14 and abottom 40 of theenclosure 12. The present invention anticipates the heating andcooling unit 16 being electrically powered by at least one of a battery and a connection to an electrical circuit. - A floor covering 42 may be engaged to the
bottom 40 theenclosure 12 and positioned in the interior space 22. The floor covering 42 may comprise artificial turf, thus allowing for a smooth transition from a playing surface comprising artificial turf to theenclosure 12. - A plurality of
hooks 44 is engaged to theframe 18 and is positioned within the interior space 22. Thehooks 44 are configured to hang articles, such as gear used, or worn, by athletes. Amounting device 46 is engaged to theframe 18 and is positioned within the interior space 22. Themounting device 46 is configured to mount at least one of a monitor and a television, thus allowing users who are utilizing theenclosure 12 to view events, such as live action on the playing surface, replays, and the like. - A plurality of
wheels 48 is engaged to theframe 18 and projects from thebottom 40 of theenclosure 12. The plurality ofwheels 48 is configured for locomotion of theenclosure 12, allowing it to be repositioned, such as from one point to another along a sideline of the playing surface. - In use, the
enclosure 12 is positioned in a desired location by rolling it into place upon the plurality ofwheels 48. The heating andcooling unit 16 is set to a desired temperature. Users then enter and exit theenclosure 12 through theopening 24 and can rest upon thebench 30 in a temperature controlled environment. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
