These novel sleeves are-mounted to slide freely on the parallel arms or guide bars i3 .and i9 and. separated to maintain the upper stationary movable jaw in parallelism with each other as the movable jaw. moves toward and away from" the stationary jaw.
Movable jaw 20 is connected to the movable lever at the flattened upper portions l3 and I4 thereof bymeans of a linking structure. The said linking structure is composed preferably of a single piece of wire passing through orifices at the outer terminals of flattened portions I3 and of the movable lever, the terminals of said piece of wire being'connected to the movable jaw 20 at the lower. edge thereof. The said linking structure is best represented on Figure 4 wherein the link extends upwardly arid diverginglyto form lower arms 24 and 25 and upper and rearwardly. greatly offset arms 26 and 21 .(Fig. 2), the diverging members of said links beoffset arms 26 and 21 of the link also permit the movable jaw to separate from the upper stationary jaw a. greater distance when the finger loops l2 and i1 are extended to the maximum extent. When the supportmgand-movable levers are extended by reason of the hereinbefore described novel structures, the clearance between the upper or stationary jaw and the lower or movable jaw is sufllcient for the insertion of the eyelashes whether or not the eyelashes have been previously curled.
The upper stationary jaw 23 is expanded intermediate the ends thereof for purposes of greatly adding strength to the lower edge thereof to resist the upward thrust of the movable jaw. The supporting and movable levers at members l5, l6 and Ill: and I I respectively are opened spaced to eliminate the expedient of separating said members for purposes of enameling said members throughout their circumference.
It is distinctly understood that minor changes and variations may be resorted to from the standpoint of integration and nature of materials without departing from the spirit of the invention and without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
