Abstract

A pet accessory organizer and storage device to store accessories thereinside, the pet accessory organizer and storage device including a main body including an expandable/collapsible opening disposed at a top portion thereof to open and close to allow the accessories to be inserted through an aperture formed when the expandable/collapsible opening is expanded, at least one draw string to open and close the expandable/collapsible opening, and a sectional pocket insert disposed within the main body, including a center pocket disposed at a center portion of the sectional pocket insert, and a plurality of pockets disposed around the center pocket.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application is a continuation in part of U.S. application Ser. No. 16/153,948 which was filed on Oct. 8, 2018, the entirety of which is incorporated herein fully by reference.

BACKGROUND

1. Field

The present general inventive concept relates generally to a bag, and particularly, to a bag that organizes and stores pet accessories.

2. Description of the Related Art

One of the perks of pet companionship is being able to take one's furry friend along on road trips or vacations. However, pets require various pet supplies, toys, and accessories, and having to haul so many items along while managing a pet can be bulky and difficult.
Therefore, there is a need for a travel container that conveniently holds and organizes items and accessories required and/or desired for pets.

SUMMARY

The present general inventive concept provides a pet accessory organizer and storage device.
Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.
The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a pet accessory organizer and storage device to store accessories thereinside, in one embodiment the pet accessory organizer and storage device including a main body including an expandable/collapsible opening disposed at a top portion thereof to open and close to allow the accessories to be inserted through an aperture formed when the expandable/collapsible opening is expanded, at least one draw string to open and close the expandable/collapsible opening, and a sectional pocket insert disposed within the main body, including a center pocket disposed at a center portion of the sectional pocket insert, and a plurality of pockets disposed around the center pocket. The plurality of pockets may be shaped like pie slices. The pet accessory organizer and storage device may further include a sectional pocket insert lid to contact a top portion of the sectional pocket insert such that the plurality of pockets and the center pocket are covered.
In another embodiment, the pet accessory organizer and storage device includes an upper section including an expandable/collapsible opening disposed at a top portion thereof to open and close to allow the accessories to be inserted through an aperture formed when the expandable/collapsible opening is expanded, at least one draw string and clasp to open and close the expandable/collapsible opening, a plurality of pet accessory pockets disposed inside and around the perimeter of the upper section, and a removable base removably connected to the upper section using a fastener such as a zipper. The pet accessory organizer and storage device may further include an external opening for accessing pet waste bags stored inside one of the pet accessory pockets of the pet accessory organizer and storage device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Various example embodiments (a.k.a., exemplary embodiments) will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which some example embodiments are illustrated. In the figures, the thicknesses of lines, layers and/or regions may be exaggerated for clarity.
Accordingly, while example embodiments are capable of various modifications and alternative forms, embodiments thereof are shown by way of example in the figures and will herein be described in detail. It should be understood, however, that there is no intent to limit example embodiments to the particular forms disclosed, but on the contrary, example embodiments are to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the scope of the disclosure. Like numbers refer to like/similar elements throughout the detailed description.
It is understood that when an element is referred to as being “connected” or “coupled” to another element, it can be directly connected or coupled to the other element or intervening elements may be present. In contrast, when an element is referred to as being “directly connected” or “directly coupled” to another element, there are no intervening elements present. The pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may be designed as a travel-type device, in order to facilitate bringing pet accessories when a user goes on a trip or vacation.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, in one embodiment the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may include a main body 110, at least one draw string 120, a name tag 130, a sectional pocket insert 140, at least one bowl 150, and a sectional pocket insert lid 160, but is not limited thereto.
The main body 110 may be constructed from cloth, paper, plastic, rubber, fabric, or any other material known to one of ordinary skill in the art, and may be a bag, a box, or any other type of container known to one of ordinary skill in the art.
The main body 110 may include an expandable/collapsible opening 111 disposed at a top portion of the main body 110, which may be expanded when the at least one draw string 120 is loosened and which may be collapsed (i.e., shut) when the at least one draw string 120 is tightened. In other words, when the at least one draw string 120 is loosened, an aperture 112 through which objects may be placed may increase in size, and when the at least one draw string 120 is tightened, the aperture 112 may decrease in size to the point of closing the aperture 112.
The at least one draw string 120 may be disposed at a side portion of the expandable/collapsible opening 111, and/or, may be connected to the main body 110.
The name tag 130 may be attached to the at least one draw string 120, and may be shaped like an animal paw. Furthermore, the name tag 130 may allow a user to write a name, address, phone number, etc., thereupon, in order to identify an owner's identification information of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100.
The sectional pocket insert 140 may be disposed within the main body 110, and may be provided to have any height and/or width known to one of ordinary skill in the art.
The sectional pocket insert 140 may have a cylindrical shape, but is not limited thereto, and may have a plurality of pockets 141 through 147. Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a plurality of pockets 141 through 146, which may be shaped like pie slices, and a center pocket 147, which may be circular in shape, are illustrated, but the sectional pocket insert 140 may include more or less pockets based on a preference of a user, and may store any items thereinside.
For example, a first pie slice shaped pocket 141 may store animal treats therein. A second pie slice shaped pocket 142 may store a water bottle therein. A third pie slice shaped pocket 143 may store toys therein. A fourth pie slice shaped pocket 144 may store a brush therein. A fifth pie slice shaped pocket 145 may store sanitary wipes therein. A sixth pie slice shaped pocket 146 may store disposable bags therein. However, the plurality of pockets 141 through 146 may store any items therein that a user may desire.
The center pocket 147 may store the food bowl 150 therein, or alternatively, may store a flying disc, ball, or any other object therein.
Again, as illustrated in FIG. 2, the plurality of pockets 141 through 146 may be disposed around the center pocket 147 in a pie-like arrangement.
A top portion of the sectional pocket insert 140 may include an upper surface 148 disposed along an upper circumference thereof.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the sectional pocket insert lid 160 may be positioned at the top portion of the sectional pocket insert 140, such that the sectional pocket insert lid 160 connects to the upper surface 148. The sectional pocket insert lid 160 may connect to the upper surface 148 via hooks, looks, clasps, buttons, snaps, VELCRO, or any other type of connecting member or fastener known to one of ordinary skill in the art. As such, the sectional pocket insert lid 160 may provide a lid to enclose the plurality of pockets 141 through 147, such that items stored therein may be secured.
Referring to FIGS. 3-8, in another embodiment the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may include an upper section 210, a removable base 250 removably connected to the upper section 210 using a fastener such as a zipper 290, at least one draw string 220, a clasp 222, a name tag 230, and a plurality of pet accessory pockets 240 disposed inside and around the perimeter of the upper section 210, but is not limited thereto.
The upper section 210 coupled to the removable base 250 form the main structure of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100, and the upper section 210 and removable base 250 contain, protect, and organize all items stored and carried within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100. All other components of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 are attached to either upper section 210 or removable base 250.
Removable base 250 connects to upper section 210 using a fastener such as a zipper 290; however, other fasteners such as hook and loop fasteners, snaps, hooks, or any other fastener may be used to connect removable base 250 to upper section 210 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. Zipper 290 may include a rubber zipper pull. When coupled to the upper section 210 by zipper 290, the removable base 250 together with upper section 210 contain items stored within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100. Removable base 250 may be removed by unzipping the zipper 290 or other fastener, and when removed items stored in the removable base 250 may be accessed without disturbing items stored in the pet accessory pockets 240. Alternatively, removable base 250 may be used as a food or water bowl. Alternatively, the removable base 250 may store a food bowl 150 therein, or alternatively, may store a flying disc, ball, or any other object therein.
Removable base 250 may comprise a box shaped container having generally rectangular front, back, side, and bottom panels. A reinforcement 270 may be attached to each of the four bottom corners of the removable base 250. Reinforcements 270 prevent wear at the corners of the removable base 250. Reinforcements 270 may be constructed from leather, nylon, polyester, plastic, fabric, or any other suitable material without departing from the scope of the disclosure. Reinforcements 270 may be attached to removable base 250 using stitching, glue, or any other suitable connection method without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
Upper section 210 and removable base 250 are preferably constructed from a material that is waterproof or water resistant, lightweight, and soft such that the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 can be collapsed when empty. In one embodiment, upper section 210 and removable base 250 may be constructed from nylon or polyester; however, upper section 210 and removable base 250 may be constructed from cloth, paper, plastic, rubber, fabric, or any other suitable material known to one of ordinary skill in the art without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
The upper section 210 may include an expandable/collapsible opening 211 disposed at a top portion of the upper section 210, which may be expanded when the at least one draw string 220 is loosened and which may be collapsed (i.e., shut) when the at least one draw string 220 is tightened. In other words, when the at least one draw string 220 is loosened, an aperture 212 through which objects may be placed may increase in size, and when the at least one draw string 220 is tightened, the aperture 212 may decrease in size to the point of closing the aperture 212. The at least one draw string 220 may be inserted through a clasp 222 that can be released or opened such that the clasp 222 can slide along the length of the at least one draw string 220 and closed or engaged such that the clasp 222 retains the at least one draw string 220 and aperture 212 in a particular position.
The at least one draw string 220 may be disposed at a side portion or front portion of the expandable/collapsible opening 211, and/or, may be connected to the upper section 210. The at least one draw strong 220 may be constructed from polypropylene rope; however any other type of rope, string, or other material known to one of ordinary skill in the art may be used without departing from the scope of the disclosure. The at least one draw string 220 may pass through a channel formed by folding a strip of upper section 210 material down and stitching the two pieces of upper section 210 fabric together to form a tube at the top of the upper section 210.
The name tag 230 may be attached to the at least one draw string 220, and may be shaped like an animal paw. Furthermore, the name tag 230 may allow a user to write a name, address, phone number, etc., thereupon, in order to identify an owner's identification information of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100.
One or more pet accessory pockets 240 may be disposed within the upper section 210, and may be provided to have any height and/or width known to one of ordinary skill in the art. Pet accessory pockets 240 are provided to hold pet accessories in a secure and organized manner within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 (i.e. storing items within the pet accessory pockets 240 prevents the items from shifting around within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 which prevents damage to items and allows items to be easily found and retrieved when needed).
The pet accessory pockets 240 may have a generally rectangular shape, but are not limited thereto. Referring to FIG. 5, the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may include six generally rectangular pet accessory pockets 240; however any number or shape of pet accessory pockets 240 may be used without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
Any items may be stored inside the one or more pet accessory pockets 240. For example, a first pet accessory pocket 240 may store a water bottle therein. A second pet accessory pocket 240 may store a comb and/or brush therein. A third pet accessory pocket 240 may store animal treats therein. A fourth pet accessory pocket 240 may store animal medications therein. A fifth pet accessory pocket 240 may store disposable pet waste bags therein. A sixth pet accessory pocket 240 may store veterinary papers therein. However, the one or more pet accessory pockets 240 may store any items therein that a user may desire.
As illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 7, the one or more pet accessory pockets 240 may be disposed inside and around the perimeter of the upper section 210. In one embodiment, the one or more pet accessory pockets 240 are sewn to the upper section 210 material along the sides and bottom of each pet accessory pocket 240. The bottom of each pet accessory pocket 240 may be pleated or gathered to increase the amount of fabric incorporated into each pet accessory pocket 240, thus allowing more or larger items to be stored in each pet accessory pocket 240 without increasing the width or height of each pet accessory pocket 240. A strip of hook and look fastener may be sewn , glued, or otherwise attached at the top of each pet accessory pocket 240 to allow the pet accessory pockets 240 to be closed, thus allowing items stored within each pet accessory pocket 240 to remain in place while the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 is in in use. Alternatively, another suitable fastener such as hooks, loops, clasps, buttons, snaps, or zippers may be used to secure items stored in the one or more pet accessory pockets 240.
The one or more pet accessory pockets 240 are preferably constructed from a lightweight material that allows the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 to be folded flat when empty. In one embodiment, the one or more pet accessory pockets 240 may be constructed from polyester mesh; however, the pet accessory pockets 240 may be constructed from any suitable fabric or other material without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
As shown in FIGS. 3, 6, and 8, a waste bag opening 260 is formed in the upper section 210 for dispensing or accessing disposable pet waste bags stored within a pet accessory pocket 240 from the exterior of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100. The waste bag opening 260 may comprise a slot or hole formed through the material of the upper section 210. The exterior side of the waste bag opening 260 may feature a reinforcement made from rubber or other suitable material that covers the slot or hole formed in the upper section 210, thus preventing damage such as stretching or tearing of the upper section 210 material while allowing bags to be accessed. The interior side of the waste bag opening 260 is disposed within a pet accessory pocket 240 holding disposable pet waste bags.
As shown in FIG. 7, a small accessory pocket 249 may be disposed within the upper section 210, and may be provided to have any height and/or width known to one of ordinary skill in the art. In one embodiment, the small accessory pocket 249 is disposed above the one or more pet accessory pockets 240. In one embodiment, the small accessory pocket 249 is attached to the front or back panel of the upper section 210. The small accessory pocket 249 is provided to hold keys, headphones, credit cards, money, or any other small items in a secure and organized manner within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 (i.e. storing items within the small accessory pocket 249 prevents the items from shifting around within the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 which prevents damage to items and allows items to be easily found and retrieved when needed).
The small accessory pocket 249 may have a generally rectangular shape, but is not limited thereto. Referring to FIG. 7, the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 as illustrated includes one generally rectangular small accessory pocket 249; however any number or shape of small accessory pockets 249 may be used without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
In one embodiment, the small accessory pocket 249 is sewn to the upper section 210 material along the sides and bottom of the small accessory pocket 249. The bottom of the small accessory pocket 249 may be pleated or gathered to increase the amount of fabric incorporated into the small accessory pocket 249, thus allowing more or larger items to be stored in the small accessory pocket 249 without increasing the width or height of the small accessory pocket 249. A zipper may be sewn, glued, or otherwise attached at the top of the small accessory pocket 249 to allow the small accessory pocket 249 to be closed, thus allowing items stored within the small accessory pocket 249 to remain in place while the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 is in in use. The zipper for closing the small accessory pocket may include a rubber zipper pull. Alternatively, another suitable fastener such as hooks, loops, clasps, buttons, snaps, or hook and loop fastener may be used to secure items stored in the small accessory pocket 249.
The small accessory pocket 249 is preferably constructed from a lightweight material that allows the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 to be folded flat when empty. In one embodiment, the small accessory pocket 249 may be constructed from polyester mesh; however, the small accessory pocket 249 may be constructed from any suitable fabric or other material without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
As shown in FIGS. 3, 4, 6, and 8, an exterior pocket 280 may be disposed one the exterior of the upper section 210, and may be provided to have any height and/or width known to one of ordinary skill in the art. The exterior pocket 280 is provided to hold a cell phone or other items.
The exterior pocket 280 may have a generally rectangular shape, but is not limited thereto. Referring to FIGS. 3, 4, 6, and 8, the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 as illustrated includes one generally rectangular exterior pocket 280; however any number or shape of exterior pockets 280 may be used without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
In one embodiment, the exterior pocket 280 is sewn to the upper section 210 material along three sides of the exterior pocket 280. A zipper may be sewn , glued, or otherwise attached to the remaining side of the exterior pocket 280 to allow the exterior pocket 280 to be closed, thus allowing items stored within the exterior pocket 280 to remain in place while the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 is in in use. As an example, in one embodiment the top, bottom, and one side of the exterior pocket 280 may be sewn to the upper section 210 material with a zipper sewn to the remaining side such that the exterior pocket 280 can be zipped shut from the side and easily accessed while the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 is being carried. The zipper used to close the exterior pocket 280 may include a rubber zipper pull. Alternatively, another suitable fastener such as hooks, loops, clasps, buttons, snaps, or hook and loop fastener may be used to secure items stored in the exterior pocket 280.
The exterior pocket 280 is preferably constructed from a lightweight fabric or other material that allows the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 to be folded flat when empty, and may be constructed from the same material as the upper section 210 and the removable base 250. In one embodiment, the exterior pocket 280 may be constructed from nylon or polyester; however, the exterior pocket 280 may be constructed from cloth, paper, plastic, rubber, fabric, or any other suitable material known to one of ordinary skill in the art without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
A shoulder strap 225 may be attached to one or both sides of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100. Shoulder straps 225 allow the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 to be worn over one or both of the user's shoulders. Shoulder straps 225 may be directly coupled to the sides of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100, or each shoulder strap 225 may be connected to two shoulder strap connectors 226 that are sewn, glued, or connected by other suitable means to a side of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100. Shoulder straps 225 may be constructed from polypropylene cord; however any other suitable material may be used for shoulder straps 225 without departing from the scope of the disclosure. In one embodiment, each shoulder strap 225 comprises an approximately 3′ length of cord that is looped through an aperture in each shoulder strap connector 226 with loose ends tied together. In such an embodiment, both half sections of each shoulder strap 225 may be taken together and placed over the user's shoulder to allow for carrying of the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100.
In one embodiment, the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may be approximately 17 inches tall with front and back panels measuring approximately 12 inches across and side panels measuring approximately 6 inches. In one embodiment the pet accessory pockets 240 attached to the front and back panels of the upper section 210 may be approximately 6 inches wide, and pet accessory pockets 240 attached to the side panels may be approximately 3.5 inches wide. In one embodiment, the small accessory pocket 249 may measure 6 inches wide and 3 inches high with a 6 inch continuous zipper. In one embodiment, zipper 290 may comprise a 32 inch continuous zipper. However, any dimensions may be used for constructing the pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 or any of its components without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
The pet accessory organizer and storage device 100 may include additional accessories including collapsible bowls or a towel for wiping dirty paws and mouths.
Although a few embodiments of the present general inventive concept have been shown and described, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the general inventive concept, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.

Claims

What is claimed:

1. A pet accessory organizer and storage device to store accessories thereinside, the pet accessory organizer and storage device comprising:

an upper section including an expandable/collapsible opening disposed at a top portion thereof to open and close to allow the accessories to be inserted through an aperture formed when the expandable/collapsible opening is expanded;

at least one draw string to open and close the expandable/collapsible opening;

a removable base coupled to the upper section using a fastener;

one or more pet accessory pockets attached to an interior of the upper section wherein each pet accessory pocket comprises a pleated bottom; and

an opening formed in the upper section configured to dispense pet waste bags.

2. The pet accessory organizer and storage device of claim 1, wherein the each pet accessory pocket further comprises a fastener disposed at a top of the pet accessory pocket and configured to contain items in the pet accessory pocket.

3. The pet accessory organizer and storage device of claim 1 further comprising a name tag attached to the at least one draw string.

4. The pet accessory organizer and storage device of claim 3 wherein the name tag is shaped like an animal paw.
