Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates generally to cosmetics, and more specifically, to a cosmetic protection apparatus for storing and transporting temperature dependent applications.
- Cosmetics are well known in the art and are effective means to protect, restore or augment the appearance of a user's body. For example,
FIG. 1 depicts aconventional lipstick device 101 having anapplicator 103 having ahandle 105holding makeup 107 and alid 109 to protect themakeup 107. During use, thelipstick 101 is carried by a user and applied to the lips. - One of the problems commonly associated with
device 101 is its limited use. For example, themakeup 107 is temperature sensitive and carrying thelipstick 101 in a pocket or hand elevates the temperature of themakeup 107 causing it to melt or deteriorate. In order to avoid this problem thelipstick 101 is not carried or must be carried in a purse or other bag. - Accordingly, although great strides have been made in the area of lipstick devices, many shortcomings remain.
- The novel features believed characteristic of the embodiments of the present application are set forth in the appended claims. However, the embodiments themselves, as well as a preferred mode of use, and further objectives and advantages thereof, will best be understood by reference to the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a front view of a common lipstick device; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a cosmetic protection apparatus in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present application; -
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional side view of the apparatus ofFIG. 2 ; -
FIG. 4 is a flowchart of the preferred method of use of the apparatus ofFIG. 2 ; and -
FIG. 5 is a side view of the apparatus ofFIG. 2 with the lid attached. - While the apparatus and method of use of the present application is susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiments thereof have been shown by way of example in the drawings and are herein described in detail. It should be understood, however, that the description herein of specific embodiments is not intended to limit the invention to the particular embodiment disclosed, but on the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the present application as defined by the appended claims.
- Illustrative embodiments of the apparatus and method of use of the present application are provided below. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions will be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which will vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.
- The apparatus and method of use in accordance with the present application overcomes one or more of the above-discussed problems commonly associated with conventional cosmetic devices. Specifically, the apparatus of the present application enables the transport and subsequently the use of lipstick in places where the environment would normally limit the use. These and other unique features of the apparatus and method of use are discussed below and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
- The apparatus and method of use will be understood, both as to its structure and operation, from the accompanying drawings, taken in conjunction with the accompanying description. Several embodiments of the apparatus are presented herein. It should be understood that various components, parts, and features of the different embodiments may be combined together and/or interchanged with one another, all of which are within the scope of the present application, even though not all variations and particular embodiments are shown in the drawings. It should also be understood that the mixing and matching of features, elements, and/or functions between various embodiments is expressly contemplated herein so that one of ordinary skill in the art would appreciate from this disclosure that the features, elements, and/or functions of one embodiment may be incorporated into another embodiment as appropriate, unless described otherwise.
- The preferred embodiment herein described is not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed. It is chosen and described to explain the principles of the invention and its application and practical use to enable others skilled in the art to follow its teachings.
- Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters identify corresponding or similar elements throughout the several views,
FIG. 2 depicts a perspective view of a cosmetic protection apparatus in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present application. It will be appreciated thatapparatus 201 overcomes one of more of the above-listed problems commonly associated with conventional lipstick devices. - In the contemplated embodiment,
apparatus 201 includes acontainer 203 that encloses acompartment 205. Thecompartment 205 being secured by alid 207. Thecontainer 203 having arubber seal 209 attached near the opening of thecompartment 205 and configured to restrict fluid flow in or out of thecompartment 205 when secured bylid 207. Thecontainer 203 having aninsulating layer 301 between anouter wall 303 and aninner wall 305 as depicted byFIG. 3 . - In use, a
lipstick device 101 is placed in thecompartment 205 and secured by closing and fixing thelid 207. Theapparatus 201 is carried with a user until the lipstick device is needed, it is then removed and applied. - It should be appreciated that one of the unique features believed characteristic of the present application is that
insulation layer 301 allows for thelipstick 101 to remain at a lower temperature than the surrounding atmosphere thus preventing themakeup 107 from melting. - Another unique feature believed characteristic of the present application is that
container 203 andlid 207 protect thelipstick device 101 from physical damage during transport or handling. - It will be understood that any method of closing or sealing the
compartment 205 is contemplated. It is also contemplated that thecompartment 205 could be air tight or water proof. - Referring now to
FIG. 4 the preferred method of use of theapparatus 201 is depicted.Method 401 including placing a lipstick in the compartment of thecontainer 403, closing the compartment via thelid 405, carrying the apparatus with theuser 407 and retrieving the lipstick from the compartment foruse 409. - It should also be appreciated that
seal 209 could function to prevent theapparatus 201 from slipping or falling out of a pocket, hand or the like while it is being carried. It will be appreciated thatseal 209 could be made from a high friction material and that whenlid 207 is attached to secure thecompartment 205 theseal 209 could deform as depicted inFIG. 5 . - The particular embodiments disclosed above are illustrative only, as the embodiments may be modified and practiced in different but equivalent manners apparent to those skilled in the art having the benefit of the teachings herein. It is therefore evident that the particular embodiments disclosed above may be altered or modified, and all such variations are considered within the scope and spirit of the application. Accordingly, the protection sought herein is as set forth in the description. Although the present embodiments are shown above, they are not limited to just these embodiments, but are amenable to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof.
