Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • The present application claims the benefit of priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62/408,760, filed Oct. 15, 2016, titled “WATER BOTTLE”, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.
  • BACKGROUND Field
  • Aspects of the present disclosure relate to containers, and more particularly to water bottles.
  • Background
  • Water bottles are commonly used as a convenient way to contain and transport water. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. However, when a water bottle tips over, it will invariably spill. Even if the water bottle includes a lid, sometimes the lid is not closed properly and spillage will occur nonetheless.
  • Therefore, there exists a need for a water bottle that will not spill when tipped over.
  • SUMMARY
  • The present invention aims to address the above by providing a non-spill water bottle designed to prevent spillage of water by allowing the non-spill water bottle to wobble but not tip over. The water bottle may include a lid and a body removably attached to the lid. The body may comprise a weighted and rounded bottom portion. The body may further be configured to wobble without tipping over.
  • According to an aspect, the bottom portion may comprise resin and/or decorations. The decorations may comprise gemstones, flowers, sparkles, and/or liquid.
  • According to an aspect, the body may be teardrop shaped. The body may comprise glass, metal, or plastic.
  • According to an aspect, the lid may be any lid selected from multiple lids and the body may be a body selected from multiple bodies. The multiple of lids may be interchangeable with the multiple bodies to form different combinations of water bottles.
  • A water bottle may include a lid and a body removably attached to the lid. The body may comprise a removable rounded bottom portion such that a majority of the weight of the body is in the bottom portion. The body may be configured to wobble without tipping over.
  • According to an aspect, the bottom portion may comprise a weight. The weight may comprise metal.
  • According to an aspect, the lid may include a straw and a leash.
  • According to an aspect, the body may further comprise a silicon coating for insulation and shock absorption.
  • A method of preventing water from spilling may include configuring a lid, configuring a body removably attached to the lid, the body comprising a bottom portion, configuring the bottom portion such that a majority of the weight of the body is in the bottom portion, the body configured to wobble without tipping over.
  • According to an aspect, the method may further comprise configuring the bottom portion to be removable, weighted, and/or rounded.

  • FIG. 1A is a schematic diagram of a water bottle 100 according to an aspect of the present disclosure. The water bottle 100 may include a lid 102 and a body 104 removably attached to the lid 102. For example, the lid 102 may be twist on, friction fit, etc.
  • The body 104 may comprise a weighted and rounded bottom portion 106. The body 104 may further be configured to wobble without tipping over. For example, the bottom portion 106 may be weighted and shaped such that a center of gravity of the water bottle 100 remains toward the bottom portion 106. In this way, when the water bottle 100 is contacted, it wobbles but does not tip over. According to an aspect, the bottom portion may comprise a weight. The weight may comprise metal.
  • The body 104 and the bottom portion 106 may comprise different shapes that facilitate wobbling but not tipping of the water bottle 100. For example, according to an aspect, the body 104 may be teardrop shaped. The body 104 may be configured with a tapering neck portion 108 with a radius substantially smaller than a radius of the bottom portion 106. The body 104 may comprise glass, metal, or plastic. Additionally, the lid 102 may be pointed to complete the teardrop shape of the body 104. Alternatively, the lid 102 may include other shapes as well, including but not limited to square, rectangle, circle, oval, triangle, pentagon, etc.
  • According to an aspect, the bottom portion 106 may comprise resin and/or decorations. The decorations may comprise gemstones, flowers, sparkles, liquid, and the like. The decorations may provide aesthetic as well as holistic properties. For example, gemstones may infuse the contents of the water bottle 100 with healing properties. The decorations may be configured to move within the bottom portion 106. For example, the decorations may be suspended in a liquid in a separate compartment such that the decorations may move as the water bottle 100 wobbles (see FIG. 1B). The decorations may add weight to the bottom portion 106 to keep the center of gravity of the water bottle 100 low.
  • According to an aspect, the lid 102 may be any lid selected from multiple lids and the body 104 may be a body selected from multiple bodies. The multiple lids may be interchangeable with the multiple bodies to form different combinations of water bottles.
  • According to an aspect, the lid 102 may include a straw and a leash (not shown). For example, the straw may be removably connected to the lid 102 through an aperture in the lid. The leash may be attached to the lid at a proximal end, and at a distal form a securing portion for securing the water bottle 100. The securing portion may comprise a loop, lock, hook, or the like.
  • According to an aspect, the body 104 and bottom portion 106 may further comprise a silicon coating for insulation and shock absorption. The silicon coating may be only on the bottom portion 106 or only on the body 104 (see FIG. 1B). The silicon portion may be tapered thinner towards the neck portion 108, and may be thicker towards the bottom portion 106.
  • FIG. 1B is a cross-sectional view of the water bottle 100 of FIG. 1A. As illustrated, the thickness of the body 104 may vary from thicker towards the bottom portion 106 to thinner towards the neck 108. The water bottle 110 may further include a weight 110 in the bottom portion 106. The weight 110 may be metal, glass, resin, or the like. For example, the weight 110 may maintain a low center of gravity of the water bottle 100. According to an aspect, the weight 110 may comprise decorative elements. The weight 100 may be situated towards the bottom of the bottom portion 106. The weight 100 may be uniform in shape, circular, rectangular, oblong, asymmetric, blood cell shaped, etc.
  • FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of an alternative water bottle 200 according to an aspect of the disclosure. The water bottle 200 includes all the features of the water bottle 100 described above. The water bottle 200 includes a body 202 and neck 204 that are concave and hyperbolically oriented. A bottom portion 206 may be substantially round and convex. The water bottle 200 may include a lip 208. The water bottle 200 may also include a weight (not shown), and may be thicker towards the bottom portion 206. It is understood that various other configurations regarding shape and size of the water bottle 100, 200 are contemplated. For example, the water bottle 100, 200 may be small, medium, large, or extra large in size. In alternative versions, the water bottle 100, 200 may be similar in size and volume to a cup, wine decanter, carafe, etc. It is understood that the features of FIGS. 1A and 1B are applicable to water bottle 200 in any combination.
  • FIG. 3 illustrates a method 300 of preventing water from spilling according to aspects of the present disclosure. The method 300 of preventing water from spilling may include, at step 302, configuring a lid. Referring to FIG. 1A, for example, the lid 102 may be twist on, friction fit, etc. According to an aspect, the lid 102 may include a straw and a leash. For example, the straw may be removably connected to the lid 102 through an aperture in the lid. The leash may be attached to the lid at a proximal end, and at a distal form a securing portion for securing the water bottle 100. The securing portion may comprise a loop, lock, hook, or the like.
  • At step 304, a body may be configured to be removably attached to the lid, the body comprising a bottom portion. Referring to FIG. 1A, the body 104 and the bottom portion 106 may comprise different shapes that facilitate wobbling but not tipping of the water bottle 100. For example, according to an aspect, the body 104 may be teardrop shaped. The body 104 may be configured with a tapering neck portion 108 with a radius substantially smaller than a radius of the bottom portion 106. The body 104 may comprise glass, metal, or plastic. Alternative shapes and sizes are also contemplated and supported by the disclosure herein.
  • According to an aspect, the body 104 and bottom portion 106 may further comprise a silicon coating for insulation and shock absorption. The silicon coating may be only on the bottom portion 106 or only on the body 104. The silicon portion may be tapered thinner towards the neck portion 108, and may be thicker towards the bottom portion 106.
  • At step 306, the bottom portion may be configured such that a majority of the weight of the body is in the bottom portion, the body configured to wobble without tipping over. Referring to FIG. 1A, the bottom portion 106 may comprise resin and/or decorations. The decorations may comprise gemstones, flowers, sparkles, liquid, and the like. The decorations may provide aesthetic as well as holistic properties. For example, gemstones may infuse the contents of the water bottle 100 with healing properties. The decorations may be configured to move within the bottom portion 106. For example, the decorations may be suspended in a liquid such that the decorations may move as the water bottle 100 wobbles. The decorations may add weight to the bottom portion 106 to keep the center of gravity of the water bottle 100 low.
  • According to an aspect, the method 300 may further include configuring the bottom portion to be removable, weighted, and/or rounded. Referring to FIG. 1A, the body 104 may comprise a weighted and rounded bottom portion 106. The body 104 may further be configured to wobble but not tip over. For example, the bottom portion 106 may be weighted and shaped such that a center of gravity of the water bottle 100 remains toward the bottom portion 106. In this way, when the water bottle 100 is contacted, it wobbles but does not tip over.

Claims (20)

What is claimed is:
1. A water bottle comprising:
a lid; and
a body removably attached to the lid, the body comprising a weighted and rounded bottom portion and configured to wobble without tipping over.
2. The water bottle of claim 1, in which the bottom portion comprises resin.
3. The water bottle of claim 1, in which the bottom portion comprises decorations.
4. The water bottle of claim 3, in which the decorations comprise gemstones, flowers, sparkles, and/or liquid.
5. The water bottle of claim 1, in which the body is teardrop shaped.
6. The water bottle of claim 1, in which the body comprises glass, metal, or plastic.
7. The water bottle of claim 1, in which the lid comprises a plurality of lids and the body comprises a plurality of bodies, the plurality of lids interchangeable with the plurality of bodies to form different combinations of water bottles.
8. A water bottle comprising:
a lid; and
a body removably attached to the lid, the body comprising a removable rounded bottom portion such that a majority of the weight of the body is in the bottom portion, the body configured to wobble without tipping over.
9. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the bottom portion is rounded.
10. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the bottom portion comprises a weight.
11. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the weight comprises metal.
12. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the body further comprises a silicon coating for insulation and shock absorption.
13. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the lid includes a straw and a leash.
14. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the bottom portion comprises resin.
15. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the bottom portion comprises decorations.
16. The water bottle of claim 15, in which the decorations comprise gemstones, flowers, sparkles, and/or liquid.
17. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the body comprises glass, metal, or plastic.
18. The water bottle of claim 8, in which the lid comprises a plurality of lids and the body comprises a plurality of bodies, the plurality of lids interchangeable with the plurality of bodies to form different combinations of water bottles.
19. A method of preventing water from spilling, comprising:
configuring a lid;
configuring a body removably attached to the lid, the body comprising a bottom portion;
configuring the bottom portion such that a majority of the weight of the body is in the bottom portion, the body configured to wobble without tipping over.
20. The method of claim 19, further comprising configuring the bottom portion to be removable, weighted, and/or rounded.
