Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a bottle for containing liquid and, more particularly, to a nozzle for a bottle.
- 2. Related Prior Art
- A cap is often used to close a bottle that contains liquid such as body wash, shampoo, detergent, lotion, and perfume. Thus, the liquid will not be leaked from the bottle. The liquid can be poured from the bottle after the cap is removed from the bottle. However, an excessive amount of the liquid might easily be poured from the bottle, and this is a waste.
- A nozzle can be used to control the amount of the liquid dispensed from the nozzle. The nozzle is pressed to dispense the liquid from the bottle. The deeper the nozzle is pressed, the larger the amount of the liquid is dispensed.
- Referring to
FIG. 5 , aconventional nozzle 10 includes aring 20, atube 30 extending throughout thering 20, apiston 40 connected to an upper end of thetube 30 that extending beyond thering 20, and asheath 60 attached to thering 20 by adhesion. Thering 20 can be engaged with a bottle (not shown). Thepiston 40 can be moved relative to thetube 30 to dispense liquid from the bottle. More details of such a nozzle can be found in Taiwanese patent application publication no. 104205744. - The color of the
ring 20 is dull, and it is difficult to clean thering 20. Hence, thesheath 60 is provided around thering 20. However, it is difficult to adhere thesheath 60 to thering 20. Moreover, thesheath 60 includes a sharp lower edge that would cut a user. - The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.
- It is the primary objective of the present invention to provide a bottle with a safe nozzle.
- To achieve the foregoing objective, the nozzle includes a ring, a tube, a piston and a sheath. The ring includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The tube extends in the ring. The piston is connected to the tube and partially located out of the ring. The sheath is made of metal and includes a first annular flange at an end and a second annular flange at another end. The sheath is arranged around the ring. The first annular flange is placed against the upper portion of the ring and the second annular flange is placed against lower portion of the ring when sheath is provided around the ring. Thus, the sheath is kept on the ring without the use of any adhesive.
- In another aspect, the ring further includes an annular wall extending from the upper portion. The first annular flange is placed against the annular wall while the second annular flange is placed against the lower portion.
- In another aspect, the sheath further includes a shoulder formed between a wide section and a slender section. The shoulder is provided around a portion of the ring between the annular wall and the upper portion of the ring. The slender section is provided around the annular wall. The wide section is provided around the ring. The first annular flange is formed at an end of the slender section. The second annular flange is formed at an end of the wide section.
- Other objectives, advantages and features of the present invention will be apparent from the following description referring to the attached drawings.
- The present invention will be described via detailed illustration of three embodiments versus the prior art referring to the drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a nozzle according to the first embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is another cross-sectional view of the nozzle shown inFIG. 1 ; -
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a nozzle according to the second embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a nozzle according to the third embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a conventional nozzle. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , anozzle 10 includes aring 20, atube 30, apiston 40, a packing 50 andsheath 60 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. - The
ring 20 is shaped like a cap. That is, thering 20 is inverted U-shaped inFIG. 1 , a cross-sectional view taken in an axial direction of thering 20. Thering 20 includes a skid-proof device 21, anupper portion 22, alower portion 24, anannular wall 26, arestraining portion 28 and ahooking portion 32. The skid-proof device 21 is formed on an external side of thering 20. Preferably, the skid-proof device 21 includes alternatively arranged longitudinal ribs and grooves. Theannular wall 26 axially extends from the upper portion of thering 20. Therestraining portion 28 also axially extends from theupper portion 22 of thering 20. Therestraining portion 28 extends in theannular wall 26. Therestraining portion 28 is hollow. Thehooking portion 32 is formed on an internal side of therestraining portion 28. Thehooking portion 32 is an annular rib or includes several short longitudinal ribs evenly arranged in a circle. - The
tube 30 includes an upper portion, a lower portion and a middle portion. The diameter of the upper portion of thetube 30 is larger than that of the middle portion, and the diameter of the middle portion of thetube 30 is larger than that of the lower portion. The upper portion of thetube 30 is inserted in therestraining portion 28 of thering 20 and hooked by thehooking portion 32 so that thetube 30 is kept with thering 20. - The
piston 40 is connected to the upper portion of thetube 30. Thepiston 40 extends through an aperture (not numbered) made in the restrainingportion 28. Thepiston 40 is located out of thering 20. - The packing 50 is provided around the
tube 30. A upper face of the packing 50 is in contact with a lower face of theupper portion 22 of thering 20. When thering 20 is connected to an upper portion of a bottle (not shown), a gap between the lower portion of theupper portion 22 of thering 20 and the upper portion of the bottle is sealed by the packing 50. - The
sheath 60 is made of metal and provided with beautiful bright colors by anodization. Thesheath 60 includes a firstannular flange 62 formed at an upper end, a secondannular flange 64 formed at a lower end, and apattern 63 formed on an internal side. There is an angle between thesheath 60 and the firstannular flange 62. Similarly, there is an angle between thesheath 60 and the secondannular flange 64. The angle is about 90° to 120°. - The first
annular flange 62 is placed against theupper portion 22 of thering 20 and the secondannular flange 64 is placed against thelower portion 24 of thering 20 as thesheath 60 is provided around thering 20. There is no need to use adhesive to attach thering 20 to thesheath 60. Thepattern 63 is configured corresponding to the skid-proof device 21. That is, thepattern 63 includes grooves for receiving the ribs of the skid-proof device 21 and ribs inserted in the grooves of the skid-proof device 21. Thus, thesheath 60 cannot be rotated relative to thering 20. - The first
annular flange 62 abuts against an annular portion of theupper portion 22 of thering 20 while the secondannular flange 64 abuts against thelower portion 24 of thering 20. Thus, sheath 60 is kept on thering 20. Moreover, the secondannular flange 64 is a bent portion to prevent thesheath 60 from cutting a user. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , there is a nozzle according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is like the first embodiment except for one thing. Thesheath 60 extends longer so that the upperannular flange 63 is placed against an upper end of theannular wall 26. Theannular wall 26 is separated from the restrainingportion 28. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , there is a nozzle according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The third embodiment is like the second embodiment except that thesheath 60 includes ashoulder 61 formed between awide section 66 and aslender section 68.
