This application is a continuation-in-part of U.S. application Ser. No. 14/843,527, filed Sep. 2, 2015 entitled “Hair Attachment”, and claims benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/157,093, filed May 5, 2015 entitled “Hair Attachment”, the contents of which are incorporated fully by reference herein.

BACKGROUND

The present disclosure relates to hair attachments.
Hair attachments can provide instant width, fullness, and enhance the appearance of a user. Many types of hair attachments are available for different methods of attachment. For example, small sections of hair may be attached to a user one by one via braiding, tying, bonding, clamping, shrink tubing, weaving, gluing, etc. Such attachment methods are also referred to as strand-by-strand attachment, and provide relatively light weight hair extensions that can move with user's natural hair when styling. However, a strand-by-strand attachment method is time intensive and relatively expensive
A weft hair extension is a more cost effective and less time intensive option. A weft hair extension typically includes a weft extending along the top, on which a swathe of hair is attached. The weft hair extension may be attached to a user using micro rings, clamping, braiding, tying, bonding, tape, glue or by sewing to user's hair. For example, a weft hair extension may be sewn to user's hair. In this method user's hair may be braided, for example into cornrows, to which a weft hair extension may be sewn in. Weft hair extensions can be attached faster than hair extensions attached by the strand by strand method, and they are less costly. However, since hair strands are fixed on a weft, movement of the hair extension is limited and styling of hair is more difficult.
Efforts have been made to develop methods for attaching weft extensions to improve versatility and to more closely mimic the look of natural hair. One such method is to split a person's hair into sections and attaching shorter width weft extensions to each section rather than attaching longer width weft extensions across the width of the head. For example, a person's hair can be divided and braided into quarter sections with center braids, a vertical center braid(s) going down from top to bottom and a horizontal center braid(s) extending from one side of person's head to the other as shown in FIG. 1. Weft extensions are sewn one by one into the braids in each of the quarter sections. After weft extensions are attached one by one until the each hair section is fully covered with the weft extensions, the center braids are unbraided to cover ends of the weft extensions around peripheries of the hair sections.
When attaching weft extensions, the weft extensions may be sewn directly into braids, or a piece of mesh may be attached first to cover each of the braided sections, to which the weft extensions may be weaved or sewn in as shown in FIG. 2. One such method is known in the industry as “Vixen Sew-In.” By attaching smaller width weft extensions to portions of a person's head, movement and versatility of hair extensions can be improved when compared to conventional methods of attaching longer width hair wefts across a person's head. However, such methods of attaching weft extensions are still time consuming, as weft extensions need to be sewn or weaved in one by one.
Therefore, it is desirable to provide hair extensions and attachment methods to improve efficiency, and yet maintain the versatility and natural hair look of hair extensions.

BRIEF SUMMARY

A hair attachment configured for attachment to a section of a person's head is provided according to embodiments of the present disclosure.
In one aspect, a hair attachment comprising a base and a plurality of hair wefts attached to the base along a plurality of hair attachment lines is provided. The hair attachment is configured for attachment to a section of a person's head. The base may include a plurality of hair attachment lines, in which a hair weft may be attached along each of the plurality of hair attachment lines. The base may be formed from a mesh material or a woven material.
In an embodiment, the hair attachment may be constructed using 10 to 40 pieces of the hair wefts, each having a width of about 0.2 inches to about 15 inches. The plurality of hair wefts includes a first hair weft and a last hair weft, in which the rest of the plurality of hair wefts are arranged therebetween, spaced apart from each other.
In some embodiments, an end of at least some of the plurality of the hair wefts curves toward an adjacent hair weft, and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide a continuous hair line when the hair attachment is attached to a section of a person's head.
In another aspect, a hair attachment set comprising at least two hair attachments is provided. Each of the hair attachments comprises a base and a plurality of hair wefts attached to the base along a plurality of hair attachment lines. Each of the hair attachments is configured for attachment to a section of a person's head.
In an embodiment, the hair attachment set may include two front attachments and two rear attachments, in which the attachments are configured for attachment to two front sections and two rear sections of a person's head. In this embodiment, the person's head may be divided into four sections by at least one vertical center braid vertically extending along the person's head from front to back and at least one horizontal center braid horizontally extending along the person's head from one side proximate’ a person's ear to the other side. The two front attachments may be configured in a mirror image of each other, and two rear attachments may be configured in a mirror image of each other.
Each of the rear attachments may include a first hair weft attached proximate along a lower periphery of a base, and a last hair weft attached proximate an upper periphery of the base, and the rest of the plurality of hair wefts arranged therebetween. The upper periphery of the base may be configured for attachment to person's head proximate where the at least one vertical center braid and the at least one horizontal center braid crosses, and the lower periphery of the base may be configured for attachment to person's head proximate a center lower portion. In this embodiment, at least one of the first and last hair wefts may have the shortest width, while at least one of the hair wefts arranged between the first and last hair wefts has a longest width.
In some embodiments, the hair wefts in a lower portion of the rear attachment may be arranged such that an end of each of the hair wefts curves upward toward an adjacent hair weft, and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide a continuous hair line proximate a side of the person's head.
In another embodiment, the hair attachment set may include two front attachments and a rear attachment, in which the attachments are configured for attachment to two front sections and a rear section of a person's head. In this embodiment, the person's head may be divided into three sections by at least one vertical center braid vertically extending along the person's head from front to center and at least one horizontal center braid horizontally extending along the person's head from one side proximate’ a person's ear to the other side. The two front attachments may be configured in a mirror image of each other.
The rear attachment may include a first hair weft attached proximate along a lower periphery of a base, and a last hair weft attached proximate along an upper periphery of the base, and the rest of the plurality of hair wefts arranged therebetween. The upper periphery of the base may be configured for attachment to person's head proximate where the at least one vertical center braid and the at least one horizontal center braid meets, and the lower periphery of the base may be configured for attachment to person's head proximate a center lower portion. In this embodiment, at least one of the hair wefts arranged between the first and last hair wefts may have the longest width.
In some embodiment, the hair wefts in a lower portion of the rear attachment may be arranged such that each end of the hair wefts curves upward toward an adjacent hair weft and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide continuous hair lines proximate sides of the person's head.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

While the present disclosure is susceptible of embodiment in various forms, there is shown in the drawings and will hereinafter be described presently preferred embodiments with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered an exemplification and is not intended to limit the disclosure to the specific embodiments illustrated.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a hair attachment 10 constructed according to an embodiment. FIG. 4 is a schematic illustration of a construction of the hair attachment 10 according to an embodiment. The hair attachment 10 generally includes a base 12 and hair 14 attached thereon.
In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the hair attachment 10 may be formed by attaching a plurality of hair wefts 16 to the base 12 along a plurality of hair attachment lines 18. The plurality of hair attachment lines 18 may be visible lines drawn on a surface of the base 12, or may be programed in a machine for placement of the hair wefts 16 on the base 12.
The plurality of hair attachment lines 18 may be provided such that at least some of the hair attachment lines are curve slightly. Further, the plurality of hair attachment lines 18 may be arranged such that each hair attachment line is spaced apart from each other with a gap 20 therebetween of about 0.1 inches to about 1.5 inches, preferably about 0.2 inches to about 1.2 inches. In an embodiment, peripheral sides 26, 28, 30 of the hair attachment lines 18 may be provided to generally match the peripheral sides of the base 12. In other embodiments, the base 12 may extend beyond the peripheral sides of the hair attachment lines.
The hair attachment 10 may be provided with one or more fold line 40. When attaching the hair attachment 10 to a person's head, the person may fold the hair attachment 10 along the fold line 40 or cut along the fold line 40 according to the size of an attachment area of the person's head.
Each of the plurality of hair wefts 16 may be provided to have a width according to the corresponding hair attachment line 18. For example, a first hair weft 17 of FIG. 4 may have a width approximately equal to that of a first hair attachment line 22, such that when the first hair weft 17 is attached along the first hair attachment line 22, the first hair weft 17 substantially covers the first hair attachment line 22. A second weft (not shown) having a width approximately equal that of a second hair attachment line 24 may be attached along the second hair attachment line 24, and so on until a hair weft is attached along each of the hair attachment lines to form the hair attachment 10 of FIG. 3.
The plurality of hair attachment lines 18 may be provided, such that a width of the hair attachment lines may increase or decrease from the first hair attachment line 22. For example, in the embodiment of FIG. 4, the first hair attachment line 22 has a width 32. The width 32 of the first hair attachment line 22 is relatively small and is not the largest width among the plurality of hair attachment lines 18. The second hair attachment line 24 has a width 34 that is larger than the width 32 of the first hair attachment line 22. A width of a third hair attachment line 36 may be larger than or equal to the width 34 of the second hair attachment line 24, and a width of a fourth hair attachment line 38 may be larger than that of the third hair attachment line 36. In this embodiment, the fourth hair attachment line 38 has the largest width among the plurality of hair attachment lines 18, and a width of the subsequent hair attachment lines gradually decreases as shown in FIG. 4. In this embodiment, two hair attachment lines 24, 36 are arranged between the first hair attachment line and the largest hair attachment line 38. In other embodiments, the number of hair attachment lines arranged between a first hair attachment line and a hair attachment line having a largest width may be less than two or more than two.
In an embodiment, a first hair attachment line 22 may extend from a point on a first peripheral side 26 to a point on a second peripheral side 28 and have a width 32 of about 0.2 inches to about 6 inches, preferably about 0.5 inch to about 4 inches. A second hair attachment line 24 may extend from a point on the first peripheral side 26 to a point on the second peripheral side 28, such that the second hair attachment line 24 is spaced apart from the first hair attachment line 22 with a gap 22 therebetween of about 0.1 inches to about 1.5 inches, in which the size of the gap 22 may vary from one end to the other within the range. A width 34 of the second hair attachment line 24 may be equal to the width 32 of the first hair attachment line 22, or about 0.1 inches to about 3 inches greater than the width 32, preferably about 0.2 inches to about 1.5 inches greater than the width 32. A width of subsequent hair attachment lines may be equal to or greater than the width of the immediately preceding hair attachment line by about 0.1 inches to about 3 inches, preferably about 0.2 inches to about 1.5 inches, until the largest width hair attachment line 38. For example, the width 32 of the first hair attachment line 22 may be about 3 inches, the width 34 of the second hair attachment line 24 may be about 3.5 inches, the width of the third hair attachment line 36 may be about 3.5 inches, and the width of the fourth hair attachment line 38 may be about 4 inches. Thereafter, a width of subsequent hair attachment lines may decrease gradually, such that a width of a hair attachment line is equal to or less than the width of the immediately preceding hair attachment line by about 0.1 inches to about 3 inch, preferably about 0.2 inches to about 1.5 inches.
In another embodiment, a plurality of hair attachment lines may be provided, such that a first hair attachment line is provided along a lower peripheral side of hair attachment lines, and is the longest width hair attachment line. In such an embodiment, subsequent hair attachment lines may be provided, such that a width of a hair attachment line is equal to or less than the width of the immediately preceding hair attachment lines.
Each of the hair wefts 16 may be attached to the base 12 using any known method. For example, the hair wefts 16 may be glued or sewn to the base 12. The base 12 may be formed using any suitable materials, such as a mesh, a lace, a woven, a nylon stocking material, and the like. In an embodiment, the base 12 is generally flat. In other embodiments, the base 12 may concave inwardly toward a person's head, in which the concaved inner surface of the base 12 is arranged on a section of person's head for enhanced fit.
The hair attachment 10 may be provided in a set, which may comprise multiple hair attachments. For example, a hair attachment set may include four hair attachment pieces, each of which may be similarly constructed as the hair attachment 10. Such a four-way hair attachment set may be configured for attachment to a person's hair that is divided and braided into four sections 2, 4, 6, 8 with center braids, a vertical center braid(s) 3 going down from top to bottom and a horizontal center braid(s) 5, 7 extending from proximate one side of person's head to the other as shown in FIG. 1. A four-way hair attachment set may include two front attachment pieces configured for attachment to two front braided sections 4, 6, and two rear attachment pieces, which are configured for attachment to two rear braided sections 2, 8.
FIG. 5 is a schematic illustration of a construction of a first front attachment 100 according to an embodiment. The first front attachment 100 is similarly constructed as the hair attachment 10 of FIG. 4, and generally includes a base 102, hair 104, and a plurality of hair attachment lines 108. As it was with FIG. 4, a plurality of hair wefts 106 are attached along the plurality of hair attachment lines 108 to form the hair 104. Further, the plurality of the hair attachment lines is provided such that a width of the hair attachment lines gradually increases from a first hair attachment line 110 to a hair attachment line 112 having a largest width and gradually decreases thereafter. In this embodiment, an area 114 of the base 102 is greater than an area 116 of the plurality of hair attachment lines 108, such that peripheries 120, 122, 124 of the hair attachment lines are contained within peripheries 130, 132, 134 of the base 102. In other embodiments, the hair attachment lines may be provided such that a width of hair attachment lines may increase or decrease from a first hair attachment line.
A four-way set may also include a second front attachment piece (not shown), which may be constructed in a mirror image of the first front attachment piece 100. The second front attachment piece may be attached to a second front section of person's head. The second front attachment piece may be arranged, such that a first hair attachment line of the second front attachment is arranged proximate a lower corner of the second front section proximate person's other ear.
FIG. 6 is a schematically illustration of a construction of a first rear attachment piece 200 according to an embodiment. The first rear attachment piece 200 is similarly constructed as the hair attachment 10 of FIG. 4, and generally includes a base 202, hair (not shown), and a plurality of hair attachment lines 208. As it was with FIG. 4, a plurality of hair wefts (not shown) are attached along the plurality of hair attachment lines 208 to form the hair. Further, the plurality of the hair attachment lines is provided such that a width of the hair attachment lines gradually increases from a first hair attachment line 210 to a hair attachment line 212 having a largest width and gradually decreases thereafter. In this embodiment, an area 214 of the base 202 is greater than an area 216 of the plurality of hair attachment lines 208, such that peripheries 220, 222, 224 of the hair attachment lines are contained within peripheries 230, 232, 234 of the base 202. In other embodiments, the hair attachment lines may be provided such that a width of hair attachment lines may increase or decrease from a first hair attachment line.
A four-way set may also include a second rear attachment piece (not shown), which may be constructed in a mirror image of the first rear attachment piece 200. The second rear attachment piece may be attached to a second rear section of person's head. The second rear attachment piece may be arranged, such that a first hair attachment line of the second rear attachment is arranged proximate a lower corner of the second rear section proximate the center braid 3 (FIG. 1.)
FIGS. 7-9 are schematic views of a four-way hair attachment set 500 according to another embodiment illustrated without hair for easy understanding of its construction. FIG. 7 is a schematic top view, FIG. 8 is a schematic rear view, and FIG. 9 is a schematic side view of the four-way hair attachment set 500. As shown, the four-way hair attachment set 500 includes a first front attachment 502, a second front attachment 504, a first rear attachment 506, and a second rear attachment 508. In the embodiment of FIGS. 7-9, a user's hair is braided into four sections, which are separated by two vertical center braids 582, 584 and a horizontal center braid 586 and surrounded by hairline peripheral braids 588, 590. Each of the front and rear attachments 502, 504, 506, 508 is configured to be attached to and cover each of the braided sections. After the attachments 502, 504, 506, 508 are attached to the user's braided sections, the center braids 582, 584, 586, and the hairline peripheral braids 588, 590 may be unbraided to cover peripheral edges of the attachments 502, 504, 506, 508 to provide the look of natural hair.
Each of the attachments 502, 504, 506, 508 is similarly constructed as the hair attachment 10 of FIGS. 4 and 5, and generally comprises a base 510, 512, 514, 516 including a plurality of hair attachment lines 518, 520, 522, 524, and hair (not shown.) A plurality of hair stands may be attached along each of the hair attachment lines 518, 520, 522, 524 to form the attachments 502, 504, 506, 508. Alternatively, a hair weft may be attached along each of the plurality of hair attachment lines 518, 520, 522, 524 to form the attachments 502, 504, 506, 508. The first front attachment 502 and the second front attachment 504 may be configured in a mirror image of each other. Further, the first rear attachment 506 and the second rear attachment 508 may be constructed in a mirror image of each other.
In an embodiment, the four-way hair attachment set 500 may be formed using about 100 grams to about 600 grams of hair, in which each the front attachments 502, 504 includes about 25 grams to about 100 grams of hair and each of the rear attachments 506, 508 includes about 25 grams to about 200 grams. Each of the front attachments 502, 504 may comprise about 3 to about 35 pieces of hair wefts, preferably about 5 to 30 pieces, in which each of the hair wefts may have a width of about 0.2 inches to about 9 inches, preferably about 0.5 inches to about 6 inches. Each of the rear attachments 506, 508 may comprise about 5 to about 50 pieces of hair weft, preferably about 10 to about 40 pieces of hair wefts, in which each of the hair wefts may have a width of about 0.2 inches to about 15 inches, preferably about 0.5 inches to about 12 inches.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 7-9, each of the front attachment 502, 504 may be constructed using 5 to 30 pieces of hair weft, for example, 18 pieces of hair weft, each of which having a width of about 0.5 inch to about 6 inches. A construction of the front attachments 502, 504 according to an embodiment is described herein with reference to the second front attachment 504 of FIGS. 7-9. The base 512 may be provided with 18 hair attachment lines 530, 532, 534, 536, 538, 540, 542, 544, 546, 548, 550, 552, 554, 556, 558, 560, 562, 564, along each of which a hair weft (not shown) is attached. In this embodiment, the base 512 has three peripheral sides 570, 572, 574. Each of the hair attachment lines 530-564 extends from a second peripheral side 572 to a first peripheral side 570 or a third peripheral side 574.
A first hair attachment line 530 extends from the second peripheral side 572 and proximately along a first peripheral side 570, and has a width 580 of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches, along which a hair weft (not shown) having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches may be attached. A second hair attachment line 532 extends from the second peripheral side 572 to the first peripheral side 570 and has a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2.5 inches, along which a hair weft (not shown) having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2.5 inches may be attached. Each of third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth hair attachment lines 534, 536, 538, 540, 542, 544 also extends from the second peripheral side 572 to the first peripheral side 570 and has a width of about 1 inch to about 4 inches, about 2 inches to about 5 inches, about 2 inches to about 5 inches, about 2 inches to about 5 inches, about 2.5 inches to about 5.5 inches, about 2.5 inches to about 5.5 inches, respectively. A hair weft having a corresponding width may be attached along each of the third through eighth hair attachment lines.
A ninth hair attachment line 546 extends from the second peripheral side 572 to a corner 571 of the first and third peripheral sides 570, 574 proximate the center of a person's head where the vertical braids 582, 584 and the horizontal braid 586 intersect. The ninth hair attachment line 546 has a width of about 3 inches to about 5 inches, along which a hair weft having a width of about 3 inches to about 5 inches may be attached. Each of tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth hair attachment lines 548-564 extends from the second peripheral side 572 to the third peripheral side 574, and has a width of about 2.5 inches to about 5.5 inches, about 2 inches to about 5 inches, about 0.75 inches to about 4.75 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 4.5 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 4.25 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 4 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 3.75 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 3.5 inches, respectively. A hair weft having a corresponding width may be attached along each of these hair attachment lines. A eighteenth or the last hair attachment line 564 extend from the second peripheral side 572 and proximately along the third peripheral side 574, and has a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2.5 inches, along which a hair weft having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2.5 inches may be attached.
The first front attachment 502 of FIGS. 7-9 may be constructed similar to the second front attachment 502 in a mirror image using 5 to 30 pieces of hair weft, each of which having a width of about 0.5 inch to about 6 inches.
The first and second rear attachments 506, 508 may have a triangle-like shape including three peripheral sides, in which some of the peripheral sides may be curved similar to the hair attachments 10 and 100 of FIGS. 4 and 5. In an embodiment, the first and second rear attachments 506, 508 may have two peripheral sides as shown in FIGS. 8, 9.
In this embodiment, the second rear attachment 508 is constructed using 10 to 40 pieces of hair weft, for example, 22 pieces of hair weft, each of which having a width of about 0.5 inch to about 11 inches. Thus, the base 516 is provided with 22 hair attachment lines 610, 612, 614, 616, 618, 620, 622, 624, 626, 628, 630, 632, 634, 636, 638, 640, 642, 644, 646, 648, 650, 652, along each of which a hair weft (not shown) is attached. In this embodiment, the base 516 has two peripheral sides 600, 602, in which a first peripheral side 600 extends generally straight down from proximate the center of a person's head to a lower end of the person's head, and a second peripheral side 602 extends from proximate the center of a person's head down to the lower end of the person's head in a long semicircular-like curve. Each of the hair attachment lines 610-652 extends from the peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 612.
In other embodiments, a base of a rear attachment may be configured in various different shapes, for example an elongated diamond shape having four peripheral sides or a half of an elongated diamond shape having three peripheral sides or an elongated oval shape. Each of the front and rear attachments may be configured, such that the attachment may be cut to fit a user's braided hair section, in which the hair wefts are securely attached to a base even after cutting.
A first hair attachment line 610 extends from the first peripheral side 600 and proximately along the second peripheral side 602, and has a width 611 of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches, along which a hair weft (not shown) having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches may be attached. A second hair attachment line 612 extends from the first peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 602 and has a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches, along which a hair weft (not shown) having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches may be attached. The second hair attachment line 612 is spaced from the first hair attachment line 610 along the first peripheral side 600 with a gap 613 of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch. The first hair attachment line 610 curves upward toward the second hair attachment line 612, and touches or nearly touches the second hair attachment line 612 proximate the second peripheral side 602 as shown in FIGS. 8-9. As such, when hair wefts are attached along the hair attachment lines, the hair weft attached along the first hair attachment line 610 meets or nearly meets the hair weft attached along the second hair attachment line 612 proximate the second peripheral side 602.
Similarly, a third hair attachment line 614 extends from the first peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 602 and has a width of about 1 inch to about 3 inches, along which a hair weft (not shown) having a width of about 1 inch to about 3 inches may be attached. The third hair attachment line 614 is spaced from the second hair attachment line 612 along the first peripheral side 600 with a gap 615 of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch. The second hair attachment line 612 curves upward toward the third hair attachment line 614 proximately along the second peripheral side 602, and touches or nearly touches the third hair attachment line 614. As such, when hair wefts are attached along the hair attachment lines, the hair weft attached along the second hair attachment line 612 meets or nearly meets the hair weft attached long the third hair attachment line 614 proximate the second peripheral side 602.
Each of fourth through fourteenth hair attachment lines 616-636 is similarly arranged and extends from the first peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 602, spaced from each other with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch along the first peripheral side 600. Each of fourth through fourteenth hair attachment lines 616-636 curves upward toward a subsequent hair attachment line, and touches or nearly touches the subsequent hair attachment line proximate the second peripheral side 602 as shown in FIGS. 8-9. The fourth through fourteenth hair attachment lines 616-636 has a width of about 1 inch to about 4.5 inches, about 1 inch to about 5 inches, about 1.5 inches to 5.5 inches, about 2 inches to about 6 inches, about 2.5 inches to about 6.5 inches, about 3 inches to about 7 inches, about 3.5 inches to about 7.5 inches, about 4 inches to about 8 inches, about 5 inches to about 9 inches, about 6 inches to about 10 inches, and about 7 inches to about 11 inches, respectively. A hair weft having a corresponding width may be attached along each of the fourth through fourteenth hair attachment lines, such that each hair weft may meet or nearly meet the subsequent hair weft proximate the second peripheral side 602 as shown in FIGS. 8-9.
A fifteenth hair attachment line 638 extends from the first peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 602 and has a width of about 6.5 inches to about 10.5 inches, along which a hair weft having a width of about 6.5 inches to about 10.5 inches may be attached. The fifteenth hair attachment 638 is arranged apart from the fourteenth hair attachment 636 with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch along the first peripheral side 600. An end of the fifteenth hair attachment line 638 touches or nearly touches an end of the fourteenth hair attachment line 636 proximate the second peripheral side 602. In this embodiment, the fifteenth hair attachment line 638 does not curve upward toward a sixteenth hair attachment line 640, and does not touch or nearly touch the sixteenth hair attachment line 640. Thus, when hair wefts are attached along the hair attachment lines, the weft attached along the fifteenth hair attachment line 638 does not meet or nearly meet the hair weft attached along the sixteenth hair attachment line 640.
Each of sixteenth through twenty second hair attachment lines 640-652 is similarly arranged and extends from the first peripheral side 600 to the second peripheral side 602, spaced from each other with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch along the first peripheral side 600. The sixteenth through twenty second hair attachment lines 640-652 have a width of about 6 inches to about 10 inches, about 5 inches to about 9 inches, about 4 inches to about 8 inches, about 2 inches to about 6 inches, about 1.5 inches to about 5.5 inches, about 0.5 inches to about 4 inches, and about 0.5 inches to about 3 inches, respectively. The first rear attachment 506 may be constructed similar to the second rear attachment 508 in a mirror image using 10 to 40 pieces of hair weft, each of which having a width of about 0.5 inch to about 11 inches.
The hair attachment lines in the four- way hair attachments 502, 504, 506, 506 are configured to provide a look that mimic natural hair more closely than prior hair attachment or hair extension devices. For example, the hair attachment lines in the lower portions of the first and second rear attachments 506, 508, e.g. the first through fourteenth hair attachment lines 610-636 are configured such that when hair wefts are attached along these hair attachment lines, each hair weft touches or nearly touches the subsequent hair weft. Such configuration of the hair attachments 506, 508 provides a continuous hair line that can closely mimic a natural hair line when hair is pulled up in an up-style, such as a ponytail.
FIGS. 10-12 are schematic illustrations of a three-way hair attachment set 700 according to another embodiment. FIG. 10 is a schematic top view, FIG. 11 is a schematic rear view, and FIG. 12 is a schematic side view of the three-way set 700. As shown, the thee-way set 700 includes a first front attachment 702, a second front attachment 704, and a rear attachment 706. The first and second front attachments 702, 704 are similarly constructed as the first and second hair attachments 502, 504 of FIGS. 8-9, each of which are constructed by attaching 18 pieces of hair wefts (not shown) on a base 708, 710 along a plurality of hair attachment lines 714, 716. The rear attachment 706 is configured similar to the two rear attachments 506, 508 of FIGS. 8-9 combine into a single attachment, and generally comprises a base 712 including a plurality of hair attachment lines 718, along which hair wefts (not shown) are attached. In an embodiment, the three-way hair attachment set 700 may be formed using about 100 grams to about 500 grams of hair, in which each the front attachments 702, 704 includes about 25 grams to about 100 grams of hair and the rear attachment 706 includes about 50 grams to about 300 grams.
In this embodiment, the rear attachment 706 may be constructed using 10 to 40 pieces of hair weft. For example, the rear attachment 706 may be constructed by attaching 24 pieces of hair wefts along 24 hair attachment lines 720, 722, 724, 726, 728, 730, 732, 734, 736, 738, 740, 742, 744, 746, 748, 750, 752, 754, 756, 758, 760, 762, 764, 766 on the base 712. The base 712 has a generally circular shape with an elongated end, which is configured to be attached to a back of person's braided head. Each of the hair attachment lines 720-766 extends from a periphery of the base 712 proximate one side of a person's head to a periphery of the base 712 proximate the other side of the person's head.
A first hair attachment line 720 extends proximate along the lower periphery of the base 712 and has a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches, along which a hair weft having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 2 inches may be attached. A second hair attachment line 722 extends from one side of the periphery to the other side, spaced from the first hair attachment line 720 with a gap 721 of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch around the center of the hair attachment lines 720, 722, and having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 4.5 inches. Each end of the first hair attachment line 720 curves upward toward the second hair attachment line 722 and touches or nearly touches the second hair attachment line 722. Similarly, each end of the second hair attachment 722 curves upward toward a third hair attachment line 724 and touches or nearly touches the third hair attachment line 724.
Each of third through fourteenth hair attachment lines 724-746 is configured similarly as the second hair extension line 722, such that each of the hair attachment line extends from one peripheral side to the other, spaced from each other with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch around the center of the hair attachment lines. Each of the third through fourteenth hair attachment lines 724-746 curves upward toward a subsequent hair attachment line, and touches or nearly touches the subsequent hair attachment line at each end as shown in FIGS. 11-12. The third through fourteenth hair attachment lines 724-746 has a width of about 1 inch to about 5 inches, about 1.5 inches to about 5.5 inches, about 2 inches to about 6 inches, about 2.5 inches to about 6.5 inches, about 3 inches to about 7 inches, about 3.5 inches to about 7.5 inches, about 4 inches to about 8 inches, about 4.5 inches to about 8.5 inches, about 5 inches to about 9 inches, about 6 inches to about 10 inches, about 7 inches to about 11 inches, and about 8 inches to about 12 inches, respectively. A hair weft having a corresponding width may be attached along each of the third through fourteenth hair attachment lines, such that each hair weft may meet or nearly meet the subsequent hair weft proximate the peripheries as shown in FIGS. 10-11.
A fifteenth hair attachment line 748 extends from one peripheral side to the other and has a width of about 7.5 inches to about 11.5 inches, along which a hair weft having a width of about 7.5 inches to about 11.5 inches may be attached. The fifteenth hair attachment 748 is arranged apart from the fourteenth hair attachment 746 with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch proximate the center of the hair attachment lines. Each end of the fifteenth hair attachment line 748 touches or nearly touches an end of the fourteenth hair attachment line 746. In this embodiment, the fifteenth hair attachment line 748 does not curve upward toward a sixteenth hair attachment line 750, and does not touch or nearly touch the sixteenth hair attachment line 750. Thus, when hair wefts are attached along the hair attachment lines, the weft attached along the fifteenth hair attachment line 748 does not meet or nearly meet the hair weft attached along the sixteenth hair attachment line 750.
Each of sixteenth through twenty second hair attachment lines 750-762 extends from one peripheral side to the other and spaced from each other with a gap of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch around the center of the hair attachment lines. The sixteenth through twenty second hair attachment lines 750-762 have a width of about 7 inches to about 11 inches, about 6 inches to about 10 inches, about 5 inches to about 9 inches, about 3 inches to about 7 inches, about 2.5 inches to about 6.5 inches, about 1 inch to about 5 inches, and about 0.5 inches to about 3.5 inches, respectively, along which hair wefts having a corresponding width may be attached. A twenty third hair attachment line 764 is arranged proximate along the upper periphery of the base 712, and has a width of about 0.5 inches to about 3 inches. A hair weft having a width of about 0.5 inches to about 3 inches may be attached along the twenty third hair attachment line 764. A twenty fourth hair attachment line 766 is provided as the last hair attachment line in this embodiment. The twenty fourth hair attachment 766 extends proximate along the upper periphery of the base 712 spaced from the twenty third hair attachment line 764. When a hair weft having a corresponding width is attached along the twenty fourth hair attachment line 766, the hair weft covers ends of at least some hair attachment lines. Thus, when a person wearing the three-way hair attachment set 700 splits hair between the front hair attachments 702, 704 and the rear hair attachment 706, the weft ends are concealed to provide the look of natural hair.
In other embodiments, a hair attachment set may include less than three hair attachment pieces or more than four hair attachment pieces according to a desired hair style. For example, a hair attachment set may include two hair attachment pieces or five hair attachment pieces.

In the present disclosure, the words “a” or “an” are to be taken to include both the singular and the plural. Conversely, any reference to plural items shall, where appropriate, include the singular.
From the foregoing it will be observed that numerous modifications and variations can be effectuated without departing from the true spirit and scope of the novel concepts of the present invention. It is to be understood that no limitation with respect to the specific embodiments illustrated is intended or should be inferred. The disclosure is intended to cover by the appended claims all such modifications as fall within the scope of the claims.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A hair attachment comprising:

a base; and

a plurality of hair wefts attached to the base along a plurality of hair attachment lines;

wherein the hair attachment is configured for attachment to a section of a person's head.

2. The hair attachment of claim 1, wherein the base includes the plurality of hair attachment lines, wherein a hair weft is attached along each of the plurality of hair attachment lines.

3. The hair attachment of claim 1, wherein the hair attachment is constructed using 10 to 40 pieces of the hair wefts, each having a width of about 0.2 inches to about 15 inches, wherein the plurality of hair wefts includes a first hair weft and a last hair weft, and the rest of the plurality of hair wefts arranged therebetween and spaced apart from each other.

4. The hair attachment of claim 3, wherein an end of at least some of the plurality of the hair wefts curves toward an adjacent hair weft and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide a continuous hair line when attached to a section of a person's head.

5. The hair attachment of claim 1, wherein the base is formed from a mesh material or a woven material.

6. A hair attachment set comprising at least two hair attachments, wherein each of the hair attachments comprises:

a base; and

The hair attachment set of claim 6, wherein the hair attachment set includes two front attachments and two rear attachments, wherein the attachments are configured for attachment to two front sections and two rear sections of a person's head, wherein the person's head is divided into four sections by at least one vertical center braid vertically extending along the person's head from front to back and at least one horizontal center braid horizontally extending along the person's head from one side proximate’ a person's ear to the other side.

8. The hair attachment set of claim 7, wherein the two front attachments are configured in a mirror image of each other, and two rear attachments are configured in a mirror image of each other.

9. The hair attachment of claim 7, wherein each of the rear attachments includes a first hair weft attached proximate along a lower periphery of a base, and a last hair weft attached proximate an upper periphery of the base, wherein the rest of the plurality of hair wefts are arranged therebetween, wherein the upper periphery of the base is configured for attachment to person's head proximate where the at least one vertical center braid and the at least one horizontal center braid crosses, and the lower periphery of the base is configured for attachment to person's head proximate a center lower portion, wherein at least one of the first and last hair wefts has a shortest width and at least one of the hair wefts arranged between the first and last hair wefts has a longest width.

10. The hair attachment of claim 9, wherein the hair wefts in a lower portion of the rear attachment are arranged such that an end of each of the hair wefts curves upward toward an adjacent hair weft, and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide a continuous hair line proximate a side of the person's head.

11. The hair attachment set of claim 6, wherein the hair attachment set includes two front attachments and a rear attachment, wherein the attachments are configured for attachment to two front sections and a rear section of a person's head, wherein the person's head is divided into three sections by at least one vertical center braid vertically extending along the person's head from front to center and at least one horizontal center braid horizontally extending along the person's head from one side proximate’ a person's ear to the other side.

12. The hair attachment set of claim 11, wherein the two front attachments are configured in a mirror image of each other.

13. The hair attachment of claim 11, wherein the rear attachment includes a first hair weft attached proximate along a lower periphery of a base, and a last hair weft attached proximate along an upper periphery of the base, and the rest of the plurality of hair wefts arranged therebetween, wherein the upper periphery of the base is configured for attachment to person's head proximate where the at least one vertical center braid and the at least one horizontal center braid meets, and the lower periphery of the base is configured for attachment to person's head proximate a center lower portion, wherein at least one of the hair wefts arranged between the first and last hair wefts has a longest width.

14. The hair attachment of claim 13, wherein the hair wefts in a lower portion of the rear attachment are arranged such that each end of the hair wefts curves upward toward an adjacent hair weft and touches or nearly touches the adjacent hair weft to provide continuous hair lines proximate sides of the person's head.
