Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. The Field of the Invention
  • This wearable strap apparel holder invention pertains to the hands-free storage for apparel items, specifically jacket and coat apparel.
  • 2. Description of Other Solutions
  • A number of patents have been issued for carrying apparel by wearer.
  • U.S. Pat No. 4,881,684 and U.S. Design Pat. No 289,228 disclose a wrapper for articles such as clothing. The wrapper is foldable, forming an envelope, with securing members and straps provided.
  • U.S. Pat No. 4,197,891 discloses a beach mat and shoulder bag which forms a rectangular sheet of flexible material, when folded can carry apparel items as well.
  • U.S. Pat No. 4,967,986 discloses a system for transporting articles for bathing, including a flexible pouch with compartments. These can be fastened into a circular pattern to compact to the size of a beach towel when rolled.
  • U.S. Pat No. 3,976,113 discloses a blanket that transforms into a tote bag using four zippers to fasten the corners into a tote bag shape for carrying apparel.
  • These patents describe a need for carrying apparel items in a compact and convenient method. However, these inventions are quite bulky to store and carry themselves as well as most lack adjustment for comfort of load shifting based on varying size of the individual wearer.
  • A number of patents utilize straps for apparel carrying.
  • U.S. Pat No. 3,587,951 discloses a sling for carrying boots with straps and loops.
  • U.S. Pat No. 5,370,286 discloses a strap system with 2 end clips and slide.
  • U.S. Pat No. 5,460,308 discloses a two-end and slit system for carrying apparel items on the shoulder.
  • U.S. Pat No. 5,788,132 discloses a strap system that attaches to a wearer's belt.
  • U.S. Pat No. 5,855,306 and U.S. Design Pat. No. 335,576 disclose types of strap apparatus utilized for carrying skates.
  • These patents utilize a strap system for carrying apparel item; however, they do not function to secure the apparel items in the current invention claim with a system of multiple loops and adjustment strap.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • This wearable strap apparel holder invention solves the problem of effectively hands-free toting of apparel items, specifically jacket and coat apparel items. Jackets, specifically those from young children, are given to caregivers to carry or store during outings. Previously, this apparel is either toted by hand or stuffed into a tote bag or other carrying bag. However, the carrying bag had to be obtained and stored as well. This strap device is utilized with a longer strap than an ordinary bag and can be stored in a very small space.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1—Orthogonal view of present invention
  • FIG. 2—Cross-sectional view of present invention
  • FIG. 3—View of present invention lacing technique
  • FIG. 4—Illustration of present invention in use
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The summary states drawings note in greater detail and with reference characters to the present invention. The wearable strap apparel holder is indicated in general by reference numeral 6, comprising of a two strap system most commonly perpendicularly placed and sewn with sewn point 2. End loops on the three free ends are indicated by reference numerals 3, 4, and 5. An adjustable clip is on the carrying strap end, secured and indicated by reference numeral 1. Apparel items, suggested but not limited to coats, jackets, sweaters, scarves, hats, are indicated by reference numeral 7. These are secured by the three loops 3, 4, and 5 by lacing through the carrying strap end noted.
  • It is noted that the invention is defined by claims stated and not limited to details such as length and size noted or suggested above. Depending on manufacturing process, the invention can be made of varying thicknesses, angles, forms, and fasteners.

Claims (3)

1. A wearable strap apparel holder comprising of a two piece sewn strap system with one elongate end with the other end designed with looped ends.
2. The strap apparel holder of claim 1, further comprising of an adjustable clip on said elongate end.
