Abstract
A pitcher, which is a container for filling with drink or water, includes a pitcher body, a cover body, and an upper lid. The cover body covers the center of the pitcher body, and has a hollow accommodating post extending downward. The accommodating post is located in the pitcher body, and is adapted to be filled with ice cubes. The accommodating post is covered with the upper lid. By the accommodating post filled with ice cubes, the pitcher is able to keep the drink at a cool temperature for a period of time.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a pitcher, and more particularly to one capable of keeping water, drink, or wine at a cool temperature for a period of time.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- When the weather is hot or after exercise, it is a please to drink a cool beverage. Usually, beverages are stored in a fridge for cooling. When the beverage is taken out of the fridge, temperature of the beverage will rise gradually. Sometimes, the user may pour ice cubes into the beverage to keep the beverage cool. However, the beverage will be diluted by the ice cubes, which influences the flavor of the beverage.
- Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to the development of a pitcher for keeping the drink in the pitcher at a cool temperature. The pitcher has two spaces to contain the drink and ice cubes separately, so that the drink won't be diluted by the ice cubes.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide a pitcher structure capable of keeping drink, water or juice at a cool temperature for a period of time. By the way of separating ice cubes from the drink, the drink won't be diluted.
- According to the present invention, there is provided a pitcher, comprising a pitcher body having a space therein; a cover body disposed on top of the pitcher body, the cover body having an accommodating post extending downward from a central portion thereof, the accommodating post having an inner space; and a top lid covering the inner space of the accommodating post.
-
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use. - Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- As shown in
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a pitcher according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises apitcher body 1, acover body 2, awasher 3, and atop lid 4. - The
pitcher body 1 has aspace 11 therein for filling with drink, water, juice, or wine. Thepitcher body 1 has an open top, ahandle 12 at one side thereof, and aspout 13 at an upper edge thereof. A user can grasp thehandle 12 and pour the drink in thespace 11 out of the pitcher via thespout 13. - The
cover body 2 is disposed on the open top of thepitcher body 1. Thecover body 2 comprises aprotruding ring 21 for engaging with the open top of thepitcher body 1, aconcave portion 22 at the center of thecover body 2, acircular rib 23 and acircular groove 24 formed in theconcave portion 22, and anaccommodating post 25 extending downward from theconcave portion 22. Theaccommodating post 25 has aninner space 26. Theconcave portion 22 is provided with astop plate 27 at one side thereof. - The
washer 3 is made of a soft material and disposed in thecircular groove 24. - The
top lid 4 disposed on theconcave portion 22 comprises aperipheral side wall 41 to press thewasher 3 and anengaging block 42 at one side thereof. Theengaging block 42 corresponds to thestop plate 27. -
FIG. 2 shows the present invention in use. Thespace 11 of thepitcher body 1 is filled with adrink 5. Thecover body 2 is placed on thepitcher body 1. Theinner space 26 of thecover body 2 is filled withice cubes 6 to keep thedrink 5 at a cool temperature for a period of time. Because theice cubes 6 and thedrink 5 are separated, thedrink 5 won't be diluted. - The
top lid 4 covers theconcave portion 22, and theperipheral side wall 41 corresponds in position to thewasher 3 and holds against thewasher 3 so as to form a sealed state. Thetop lid 4 is rotated with theengaging block 42 engaging with thestop plate 27 so that thetop lid 4 won't disengage from theconcave portion 22. - The
inner space 26 is formed from the top to the bottom of thecover body 2 so that the top of theinner space 26 is open for filling with the ice cubes 6 easily. - Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
