Abstract

The pedicure toe separator is formed from a single piece of material consisting of polyurethane foam. The toe separator is designed to be worn as a ring around the users toe. The toe separator is square in shape with four surface structures and with an open oval hole in the center of the four surface structures. The left side surface structure and the right side surface structure provide sufficient separation between each toe. The bottom surface structure is designed to give support, comfort and rest for the users toe. The top surface structure of the separator is designed with an open flexible slit that will allow the user to wear and remove the separator with ease. The open oval hole in the center of the four structures of the toe separator provides stability, support and can be adjusted to the users toe.

FIELD OF INVENTION

This invention relates to pedicures but more importantly the separation of toes. It is an improved toe separator that separates toes, provides comfort and mobility.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

During the performance of the pedicure it is necessary to maintain the toes of the pedicure recipient in a spaced apart relation to provide easy access by the person performing the pedicure. In addition the size of the toe separator should be sufficiently separated so in order to provide enhanced comfort and stabilization of the toes. A further goal of the toe separator is to allow the individual/client receiving the pedicure to immediately walk or drive a car with freshly nail polished toes thus eliminating the need for waiting possibly up to one hour at the salon while the nail polish dries. As well as to prevent damage to any of the beautification treatment preformed on the toes, such as be able to remove and wear the toe separator with out ruining the polish. The toe separator should have a design favorable to its cost effective manufacturer as a disposable article.
Historically the separation of the toes during pedicure treatment has been achieved using wood, cotton, foam and other random articles. In addition various toe spacing devices specifically designed for use during the performance of a pedicure are commercially available. In an effort to enable individuals to walk around after pedicure without damage to the treatment various pedicure toe separators and sandal systems have been developed.
U.S. Pat. No. D393,931, discloses a toe separator to be worn during but not after pedicure. The toe separator in patent 393 has significant limitations, first, it's to large in size making it not functional. Second, it spaces apart the toes to an extent of discomfort. Third, it doesn't not allow the wearer the opportunity to be mobile while wearing the toe separator. Lastly, the toe separator is cost prohibitive to manufacture as a disposable article.
U.S. Pat. No. D415,858, discloses a toe separator to be worn during but not after pedicure. The toe separator in patent 415 has significant limitations, first, it spaces apart the toes to an extent of discomfort. Second, it's too large in size making it not functional. Lastly, it doesn't not allow the wearer the opportunity to be mobile while wearing the toe separator.
U.S. Pat. No. D420,785, discloses a sandal with toe separator to be worn during and after pedicure. The sandal with toe separator in patent 420 has significant limitations, first, the sandal has an uncomfortable structure that requires toes be spaced in a certain position that is uncomfortable for user. Lastly, it is also uncomfortable for the user to walk around while wearing the sandal the user would have to slide there feet on the ground to prevent the sandal from coming off and ruining the pedicure.
Furthermore each of the disclosed assembly suffers from one or more of the aforementioned limitations. There is a well-established need for a comfortable mobile pedicure toe separator wearable during and after the performance of a pedicure.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a pedicure toe separator, which is formed from a single piece of material consisting of polyurethane foam. The toe separator is designed to be worn as a ring around the users toe. The toe separator is square in shape with four surface structures. The four surface structures of the toe separator provide separation, comfort, stabilization, adjustment and rest for the toe of the user. There is an open oval hole in the middle of the separator, which supports the toe. A flexible open slit is located above the middle of the oval hole of the separator. The slit will provide flexibility and adjustability to allow the user to wear and remove the separator with ease. When the toe is placed with in the hole of the separator the four edges of the structure will surround the toe in a stable and comfortable position. The toe separator is designed so that an individual can wear two separators on each foot, one on the second toe and the other on the fourth toe.
The object of the toe separator is used to separate each toe before and after applying the nail polish. It is another object of the toe separator can be worn with open toe sandals or separately. It is a further object of the toe separator is to allow the user the mobility to move freely with in the salon or outside of the salon before and after applying polish to the toes. It is a further object of the toe separator is that it is adjustable and sizable to fit the users toe. It is a further object of the toe separator allows enhanced comfort and stabilization of the toes. It is a further object of the toe separator is it can be worn and removed without any damage to the nail polish. It is a further object of the toe separator is that it is small in size yet functional and comfortable. It is a further object of the toe separator to provide sufficient separation between each toe. It is still another object of the toe separator has a construction conducive to its cost effective manufacture as a disposable article.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 illustrates a pedicure toe separator 8 constructed in accordance with the present invention. There are four main surface structures. The pedicure toe separator is comprised of a bottom surface structure 10, which provides support to the toe of the user by resting the toe on the bottom surface structure. A left side surface structure 12 and a right side surface structure 14 provide separation between each toe. A top surface structure 16 is used for adjusting the size of the toe separator around the toe. On the top surface structure 16 there is a slit 18 that is used for the purpose of putting on and removing the separator 8. The interior of the toe separator 8 is hollowed out creating a hole 20 in the structure. The hole 20 is to center and stabilize the toe, which is surrounded by the four surface structures 10, 12, 14 and 16.
FIG. 2 illustrates the front plan view of the toe separator 8. There are four main surface structures of the toe separator. The left 12 and right 14 side surface structures provide support and separation between each toe. It also provides sufficient distance and enhanced comfort as well as stabilization between each toe. The interior of the toe separator 8 is hollowed out creating a hole 20 in the structure. The whole 20 is to center and stabilize the toe, which is surrounded by four surface structures 10, 12, 14 and 16. The slit 18 and the hole 20 work together to provide flexibility and adjustability around the users toe. It also allows the user to wear and remove the separator from the toe with ease.
FIG. 3 illustrates the top plan view of the toe separator 8. The top surface structure 16 has a flexible open slit 18 that is used for the purpose of wearing and removing the separator 8 with ease and also allows the user to adjust the separator around the toe without damage to the toe polish.
FIG. 4 illustrates the bottom plan view of the toe separator 8. The bottom surface structure 10 is deigned to support the toe. When the user rests the toe on the bottom surface structure 10 it will provide comfort and it will also reduce the tendency of the users toe.

Claims

1. A pedicure toe separator which is formed from a single piece of material consisting of polyurethane foam.

2. A pedicure toe separator as in claim 1 wherein said the toe separator is square in shape with four rounded edges and four surface structures. The toe separator is comprised of a bottom surface structure for supporting the toe. The toe separator consists of a left side surface structure and a right side surface structure to provide sufficient separation between each toe. The toe separator is comprised of a top surface structure that is used for adjusting the size of the toe separator around the toe in order to wear and remove with ease.

3. A pedicure toe separator as in claim 1 wherein said the top surface structure as in claim 2 has a flexible open slit. The flexible open slit is used for the purpose of wearing and removing the separator with ease and also allows the user to adjust the separator around the toe without damage to the toe polish.

4. A pedicure toe separator as in claim 1 wherein said the interior of the toe separator is hollowed out creating a hole in the structure of the toe separator. The hole is to center and stabilize the toe, which is surrounded by the four surface structures as in claim 2.
