In Figure 4 we deal with disk and friction wheels. The disk 59 is fastened to shaft 60 by pin M and rotates inthe housing 62. At the end of theV shaft Gti'y isv the sprocket Wheel 48 (see Fig. 3)

It islto be understoodthat the form of my invention, herewith shown and described can be modifiedby various changes in the shape, size and arrangementl of parts Without departing from the spirit of my invention, or the scope of the subjoined claims.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:-
1. In a package wrapping machine, the combinationalT of means for supporting a roll of wrappingmateral; with a guide roller having frictional slip contact with the wrapping material drawn from lthe roll of wrapping materiaLrand reversiblemechanism for rotating lthe guide roller about its axis in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to tension the wrapping materia-l by the frictional slip contact therewith.
2. Ina; package wrapping machine, the combination of means for supportinga roll of wrappingmaterial; with a guide roller having frictional sl'ip-` contact with the wrapping material Ydrawnfrom the roll of wrapping material, reversi-ble mechanism for rotating the guide roller about its axis' to tension the wrapping material by the frictional slip'contact therewith and a main driving means for actuating the reversible mechanism.
3. A package wrapping machine as claimed in claim 2, wherein the reversible mechanism inclu'desa rstrand second shaft, means for driving the first shaft and the guide roller in the same direction, means for driving the first and second shafts `in the-same` direction, disengageable means for driving the Virst Shaft by the main driving means' anddi'sengageable Vmeans forv reversing the rotation of the second shaft with respect to the driving means. A package wrapping machine as claimed in clainr2`; wherein thereversible mechanism includes a first and second shaft, a chain and sprocket mechanismV for transmitting the drive fron'rthey first shaft to the guide roller, a second chain and Vsprocket mechanism for transmitting the drive from the second shaft to thev first shaft,
a combinedsprocket and' spur gear wheel disen- Vgageably mounted on the first shaft; and a spur gear wheel disengageably mounted on the second shaft, with respectto the spur gear wheel on the firstshaft, said spur gearings operating to transmit4 a reverse drive from the combined sprocket l 4 and'spur gear'wheel'to'the'second shaft;
