Description
- (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a table jointing device, and more particularly to utilizing a component connectivity assembly method to assemble the connecting device for application in table furniture.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- Wood has been the primary material for manufacturing traditional furniture for a long time, and, thus, people have always excessively cut down trees in order to acquire the wood, thereby seriously destroying the natural ecosystem of forests, which has resulted in the disappearance and extinction of many animals, plants and habitats, and is one of the reasons for the green house effect. Hence, abandoning traditional wood material and adopting environmental protection material to manufacture superior quality furniture has already become a mainstream trend for joint efforts by current global furniture operators.
- Regarding current conventional environmental protection table furniture, structural members of metallic material are utilized to fabricate a frame, and a structural member connectivity method adopts a welding method to fixedly configure the frame. However, welding points appearing on an exterior of the furniture not only destroys eye appeal of the table, moreover, packaging and shipment from a factory or storage of the table furniture occupy and consume a substantial amount of space, which increases transportation costs. In addition, the table structural member connectivity method also adopts a tenon jointing method in order to reduce size of packaging, however, the tenon jointing structural member connectivity method is not firm nor reliable, and very easily results in loosening or shedding of the joints.
- Hence, the present invention herein discloses a new and improved configuration to resolve and surmount existent technical difficulties to eliminate the aforementioned shortcomings.
- The present invention provides a table jointing device, and is configured to comprise one to a plurality of bases, jointing slots, locating holes, locating members and support bars, wherein the mutually through-connecting jointing slots and locating holes are defined in each of the bases. The locating members of each of the bases are configured so as to respectively penetrate the locating holes of the respective base. A groove or a through hole is defined in each of two ends of each of the support bars, and which provide for the locating members to imbed thereinto.
- In accordance with assembly of aforementioned structural members, the table jointing device of the present invention allows end portions of each of the support bars to respectively insert into the jointing slots of the respective base, thereby appropriately positioning the grooves or the through holes so as to correspond to the locating holes, whereupon the locating members are respectively imbedded so as to abut into the grooves or penetrate the through holes through the locating holes defined in the respective base, thereby fixedly jointing the support bars into the respective base, and with such a configuration the plurality of bases and the plurality of support bars thus realize assembly of a table.
- To enable a further understanding of the said objectives and the technological methods of the invention herein, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiments.
-
FIG. 1 shows an exploded elevational view according to the present invention. -
FIG. 2 shows a top view according to the present invention. -
FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional structural view of a base according to the present invention. -
FIG. 4 shows a schematic elevational view of an embodiment according to the present invention. -
FIG. 5 shows a cross-sectional structural view of a second embodiment of the base according to the present invention. -
FIG. 6 shows a cross-sectional structural view of a third embodiment of the base according to the present invention. -
FIG. 7 shows a schematic elevational view of the embodiment utilizing a fixing member according to the present invention. - Referring to
FIG. 1 , which shows a table jointing device of the present invention comprising: one to a plurality ofbases 10, each of which are configured so as to assume a cylindrical shape. Two vertical intersectingrectangular jointing slots 11 and two locatingholes 12 that respectively through-connect with thejointing slots 11 are defined in thebase 10. Furthermore, a throughhole 13 is defined so as to pass through a center of thebase 10. - The present invention further comprises one to a plurality of locating
members 30, each of which is configured so as to respectively penetrate the locatingholes 12 of thebase 10, and are adopted as screwing members. - The present invention further comprises one to a plurality of
support bars 20, each of which have a shape that respectively corresponds to a shape of each of therectangular jointing slots 11 of thebase 10. Agroove 21 is defined in each of two ends of each of thesupport bars 20, which provide for the locatingmembers 30 to imbed thereinto. - Aforementioned structural members provide but one embodiment of the present invention, and can be partially modified, for instance, the
jointing slots 11 of thebase 10 can be configured to be circular or any polygon shape, and a cross-sectional configuration of thesupport bars 20 is then changed accordingly to correspond to the shape of thejointing slots 11. - Referring to
FIGS. 2 and 3 , in accordance with assembly of the aforementioned structural members, end portions of each of thesupport bars 20 are respectively inserted into thejointing slots 11 of therespective base 10, thereby appropriately positioning thegroove 21 so as to correspond to the locatingholes 12, whereupon the locatingmembers 30 are respectively imbedded in a vertical direction so as to abut into thegroove 21 through the locatingholes 12 defined in an upper portion or a lower portion or, as depicted inFIG. 3 , through both the upper portion and the lower portion of therespective base 10, thereby fixedly jointing thesupport bars 20 into therespective bases 10. - Furthermore, according to the aforementioned configuration, a plurality of the
bases 10 and the plurality ofsupport bars 20 are assembled to form a table as depicted inFIG. 4 , and a throughhole 13 configured center of each of thebases 10 can thus be utilized for connecting to other devices or to respectively fixedly configure thebases 10 to supportlegs 50 by means of bolts penetrating the throughhole 13, thus forming legs for table furniture thereof. - Referring to
FIG. 5 , which shows a second embodiment of the present invention, wherein the locatingholes 12 of each of thebases 10 can penetrate a single side of therespective base 10 either from the upper portion or the lower portion of therespective base 10, and thereby form a through passage into thejointing slot 11. Thus thesupport bars 20 can be fixedly configured to therespective base 10 with the single locatingmember 30. - Referring to
FIG. 6 , which shows a third embodiment of the present invention, wherein a penetratinghole 22 is defined in an end of each of thesupport bars 20. The locatingmember 30 can thus be screwed into the penetratinghole 22 of each of thesupport bars 20 through the locatinghole 12 of therespective base 10, therewith better ensuring a firm and stable assemblage of thesupport bars 20. - Referring to
FIG. 7 , in view of the aforementioned description, because of uncertainty of weight load in utilizing the table structural configuration of the present invention, afixing member 40 is disposedly configured between the twocorner jointing slots 11 of each of therespective bases 10 in order to maintain structural stability of the table. An anear surface of thefixing member 40 attaches to and thereby abuts upon therespective base 10, and thefixing member 40 is screwed down onto therespective base 10 by means of a screw 41.or can be directly welded to therespective base 10. Furthermore, two end surfaces of thefixing member 40 respectively abut upon inner wall surfaces of therespective support bars 20, and the two end surfaces can be further screwed down onto therespective support bars 20 withscrews 42, thereby realizing a firmer table, and making it difficult for distortion of the table to occur. - It is of course to be understood that the embodiments described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
