RULER.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 20,055, dated April 27, 1858.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS FISHER, of Camden, in the county of Camden, in the State of N ew Jersey, have invented a new and Iinproved Mode of Preventing Rulers from Slipping; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
Th-e nature of my invention consists in providing the under part of the ruler with grooves, which grooves are to be filled with india rubber, which will when put upon paper, wood or glass, &c., adhere to the same, so that in ruling when the pen coines against the edge of t-he ruler it will not slip 'out of place, and in cutting window or other glass, when the ruler is applied to the glass THOMAS FISHER.
