Description

    FIELD OF INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to hair barrettes, clips, combs, necklaces, and pins to which leaves are integrally attached by glue. Then, an artificial silk flower is attached to the leaves with glue to create an ornament. [0001]
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Using hair securing devices such as hair bands, bobby pins, barrettes, etc. or other securing devices to secure ornaments to clothing or to the body to be worn as jewelry is well known. However, although such devices often provide for ornamental designs integral to the clip or pin itself, they still maintain the appearance of their functional integrity. Moreover, they still appear to be a clasp or bobby pin, etc. There is a need for a barrette, hair clip, necklace or pin that maintains its functional integrity while masking a unitary structure of a barrette, hair clip, necklace or pin with an adornment, namely an artificial flower. [0002]
  • It is an object of the present invention to provide for a barrette, hair clip, comb or pin to which an artificial flower or like ornamentation can be easily attached. [0003]
  • DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,735,295 discloses a method of fabricating and adhering a decorative component such as a flower to a bobby pin with glue. [0004]
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,893,377 discloses a hair clip such as a barrette in which a decorative piece such as a flower may be detachably secured to the base of the clip by snaps. Thus, various decorative pieces may be attached to a single clip. [0005]
  • U.S. Pat. No. 6,131,585 discloses a hair ornament in which a decorative device, i.e. a decorative silk flower, can be directly attached to the hair by a Velcro fastener. [0006]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention provides a hair ornament including a barrette having a device for attaching the barrette to a person's hair and having a barrette surface for receiving ornamentation on it. One or more ornamented leaves are glued to the barrette surface and one or more silk flowers are glued to the one or more ornamental leaves to form the hair ornament. [0007]
  • In an alternate embodiment a hair clip may be used instead of a barrette. [0008]
  • In another alternate embodiment a hair bun net may be affixed to the hair ornament.[0009]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an improved hair ornament attached to a barrette; [0010]
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of an improved hair ornament attached to a barrette; [0011]
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an alternate embodiment for an improved hair ornament with an elastic hair/bun net; [0012]
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of an alternate embodiment for an improved hair ornament attached to a hair clip; and [0013]
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a necklace, wristband or ankle ornament. [0014]
  • FIG. 6 is a rear view of a necklace, wristband or ankle ornament. [0015]
  • FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a waist-belt ornament. [0016]
  • FIG. 8 is a rear view of a waist-belt ornament.[0017]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show a [0018] hair ornament 10 comprising a barrette 15 having a device 20 for attaching the barrette 15 to a person's hair 30. The barrette has a barrette surface 16 for receiving ornamentation 40. One or more ornamented leaves 50 are glued to the barrette surface 16. Thereafter, one or more silk flowers 60 are glued to the one or more ornamental leaves 50 to form the hair ornament 10.
  • ALTERNATE EMBODIMENTS
  • FIG. 3 shows an alternate embodiment for an improved [0019] hair ornament 100 in which an elastic hair bun net 120 is fixedly secured to the hair ornament 100. The net has a stretchable opening 130 for receiving a hair bun.
  • FIG. 4 shows a [0020] hair ornament 200 comprising a hair clip 215 having a device 220 for attaching the hair clip 215 to a person's hair. The hair clip 215 has a clip surface 216 for receiving ornamentation 240. One or more ornamental leaves 250 are glued to the clip surface 216. Thereafter, one or more silk flowers 260 are glued to the one or more ornamental leaves 250 to form the hair ornament 200.
  • FIGS. 2[0021] a and 2 b show a hair ornament 300 which is made of a pin 315 or a hair comb 316 instead of a barrette.
  • FIGS. 5 through 8 show a necklace, wristband/belt or [0022] ankle ornament 500 comprising one or more silk flowers 502. The silk flowers 502 are glued to one or more ornamented leaves 504 to form the decorative element 506 of the ornament 500. The ornamented leaves 504 have spaced apart holes 508 for receiving a string 510 which is connected to the ornament 500. String 510 may be fastened around a person's neck, wrist or ankle or fastened to a necklace, wristband/belt or ankle chain 514. In addition, a decorative cap 512 is glued to the underside of the ornamental leaves 504.
  • ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
