Abstract
The present invention relates to a protecting structure for a stick type umbrella, which includes a shaft assembled with several sets of main ribs and stretcher, while a cover is provided on the ribs. The characteristic is to provide a reinforced cord to connect the main rib and the relative stretcher for holding the main rib to resist the upward wind while the umbrella is open. Thus, the ribs are protected safe against the strong wind.
Description
- When an ordinary umbrella without any anti-wind device is used, it would be broken if a strong upward wind occurs suddenly, after blowing the ribs of umbrella upward. If the umbrella is an upward collapsible one, it can be collapsed and then opened for use normally. If it happens to a stick type umbrella, which has straight ribs, the umbrella would be easily broken.
- Accordingly, the primary object of the invention is to provide a protecting structure for a stick type umbrella, which uses an additional cord to connect the main rib and the relative stretcher for providing a force to resist the upward wind acting on the umbrella. Thus, the main rib will be prevented from being broken with this improved effect. Now the features and advantages of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a stick type umbrella ribs provided with a reinforced cord according to the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a plan view showing the half-open umbrella according to the present invention.
- FIG. 3 shows the umbrella of FIG. 2 being opened completely.
- Please refer to FIGS.1 to 3, the present invention mainly relates to an improvement of the stick type umbrella. A normal stick type umbrella includes a shaft (1), which is assembled with several sets of main ribs (2) and stretchers (3). The characteristic of the present invention is to provide a reinforced cord (4) between a middle position of the stretcher (3) and an outer position of the main rib (2). When the umbrella is not fully opened (FIG. 2), the cord (4) is just loose in the umbrella without any function. As the umbrella is opened (FIG. 3), the cord (4) will be drawn tightly between the main rib (2) and the stretcher (3) that provides a pulling force on the main rib (2). Hence, when upward wind happens, the main rib (2) can be pulled by the cord (4) for resisting the wind without damage.
- Accordingly, the assembly of the present invention obviously achieves utility and improvement. It can be manufactured easily and provides a protecting effect on the straight rib of the umbrella.
