While the form of mechanism herein shown and described is admirably adapted to fulfill the objects primarily stated it is to be understood that it is not intended to confine the invention to the one form of embodiment herein disclosed for it is susceptible of embodiment in various forms all coming within the scope of the claims which follow.
What is claimed is:
' 1. In a machine of the class described, having a traveling carriage and means for releasing the machine for operation; the combination of tabulating means for the traveling carriage; means for disabling the tabulating means; and means operated by the tabulating means when disabled for locking the machine releasing means.
2. In a machine of the class described the combination of means for releasing the machine for operation; a traveling carriage; tabulating stop means therefor; means for disabling the tabu-' lating stop means; and means connected to the tabulating stop means for blocking-the movement of the machine releasing means when said tabulating stop means is disabled.
3. In a machine of the class described the combination of machine releasing means; a traveling carriage; tabulating stop means therefor; manual means for disabling the tabulating sto-p'means; means for operating the tabulating stop means;
a link; a spring; and a, pivoted member connected by the said link and spring to the tabulating stop operating means to block the movement of the machine releasing means when the tabulating'stop means is disabled.
4. In a machine of the class described, the combination of means for releasing the machine for operation; a traveling carriage; tabulating stop means therefor; means for disabling the tabulating means; and a device intermediate the machine releasing means and the tabulating stop means adapted to be operated by the latter to move said device into the path of movement of said machine releasing means to prevent operation thereof when the tabulating stop means is disabled.
