While I have shown and described a liner used in connection with my improved carton, it is tobeimderstoodthatthecartonmaybeused either with 'or without a liner, as may be required under diflerent conditions and with different materials. It is also to be understood that the terms which I have used in describing my improved carton, such as ends, top, bottom, sides, etc., are used only in a descriptive sense to identify different parts of the box, and are not to be considered as limitations, For example, the wall that maybe called an end inFig. 4 becomesatop orlidinFlg. 8, and the front and rear walls in Fig. 7 become end walls when theearton is turned to the position shown in Fig. 8.

I have "shown the ends 23, 24 as separate pieces, but that is not necessary in this invention because the bottom flaps 17, 18 in some instances are made long enough to form the ends of the box and tucks 25, 26. When the end piecu are separate, less material is usually required in making the carton.

In cases where it is desired to open the carton only at one end as shown in Fig. 8, the tearline 35 and the tuck 16 may be omitted and the front panel 14 provided with a tuck similar to the tucks 25, 26. The top 15 will then be tightly glued to the tucks on the side and one end, but will be glued to the tuck 25 only within the tearline 31.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is defined in the following claims and all equivalents thereof:

1. A lined carton formed'from a blank and liner folded together, the blank having side and bottom panels with narrow flaps at the ends of each side and the bottom, the liner and sides of the blank being folded upwardly and the ends of the liner turned inwardly to form an outwardly extending bottom fold at each end, the 'side flaps being turned inwardly to engage over said folds, and the end folds and bottom flaps being turned upwardly outside of said end flaps, and separate end panels secured to the outside of said side and bottom flaps.

2. A lined carton formed from a blank and liner folded together, the blank having side and bottom panels with narrow flaps at the ends of each side, the liner and sides of the blank being folded upwardly and the ends of the liner turned inwardly to form a narrow overlap near the center and an outwardly extending bottom fold at each end withthe end flaps turned inwardly over said bottom folds, said end flap being less than one half the width of the bottom panel, said iolds being turned upwardly out-.
