(Cl. .6$11) This invention relates to bracelets, more particularly of the wing type, which latter are separated in applying and removing the bracelet from the wrist of the wearer, and the primary 5 object of the invention is to provide improved means for mounting the wings and iorholdingsame under tension so as to enable the wings to be easily and quickly operated inremoving and applying the bracelet.

A further object or the invention is to provide tensioning means which is positive in action; of maximum durability, and which is not subject to derangement in normal use.

Still further the invention aims to provide .can be economically produced and easily and quickly assembled. I

Figure 6. 1 In proceeding in accordance with the present invention a head 1 is provided, which has a top which are formed with flanges 3 which latter are turned inwardly at 4 to hold a bottom plate 5, which constitutes the bottom of the head, in position. The wings 6 are of similar construction and are curved to engage about the wrist of the wearer. The tensioning means for the wings consists or a plate 'I which is formed. with perforated ears 8 at each of its corners and to which the Win8 are pivoted, and for which purpose the wings are formed with preferably integral pintles .9 as shown particularly in Figure 3. A spring plate 10 underlies the plate 7 and is secured to the central portion of the latter by means of lugs 11 which are struck out irom the plate I and are extended through openings provided .there--' lot, in the plate 10 and are clinched into engagement with two plates in rigid engagement. From the foregoing it will be observed that the parts are connected without the use of solder or other extraneous fastening means, and that by the provision of a flat spring plate 10 the possessed of great longevity, and is not subject to loss of its spring properties as in the instance of coil springs; and in addition but one spring plate is requred to tension each of the wings. It-will furthermore be seen that the wings have uniform movement and can be easily and quickly manipulated in applying and removing the bracelet.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new anddesire to secure by Letters Patent is: v

1. In a bracelet, a hollow head,a' pair of wrist engaging wings havinginner ends, a pair of plates within the head one of which is yieldable, means integral with the plates to rigidly connect the central parts of the plates so as to leave the ends of the latter free, the inner ends of the wings being disposed between the plates adjacent and means to pivotally' connect the sides of the inner ends of the wings 9 to the plate opposite the yieldable plate, the yieldable plate having its ends oflset and engaged with the inner ends of the wings to yieldably hold the latter in postion.

2. In a bracelet, a hollow head, a plate in the head, a pair of wrist-engaging wings having ends extending into the head and pivoted to the plate, and a spring plate rigidly connected between its ends to the first named plate and engaged with each of said ends 0! the wings to yieldably hold the latter in position. 1 v 8.
