Description

y 17, 1 H. LEVINE ENVELOPE FASTENER CONTAINER Filed April 26, 1933 fffiRRY LEV/N5 ATTORNEY Patented July 17, 1934 PATENT OFFICE ENVELOPE FASTENER CONTAINER Harry Levine, New York, N. Y., assignor to American Eyelet 00., New York, N. Y., a corporation of New York Application April 26, 1933, Serial No. 668,110
1 Claim.
This invention relates to containers for envelope fasteners. V
The invention will be fully and comprehensively understood from a consideration of. the
following detailed description when read in connection with the accompanying drawing which forms part of the application, with the understanding, however, that the improvement is capable of extended application and is not confined-to the exact showing of the drawing nor to the precise construction described and, therefore, such changes and modifications may be made therein as do not affect the spirit of the invention nor exceed the scope thereof as expressed in the appended claim.
In the drawing:
Fig. 1 is a bottom plan view of the improved envelope fastener container and shows fasteners therein.
Fig. 2 is a broken elevational view of the container with fasteners; and
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary perspective view of the container alone.
Referring to the drawing for a more detailed description thereof, the container is shown as being made from a single piece of metal and comprises a top 5 integral with which are a pair of confronting sides 6 and '7, eachof which consists of a channel-shaped portion 6a and 7a, re-
spectively, and lateral flanges 6b and 7b, respectively, each pair of flanges being spaced from each other so that the arms 8 and 9 of the fasteners may be placed therebetween and held thereby. The round portions 10 and 11 of the fasteners lie in the channel-shaped members 6a and 7a. Extensions 7c are provided at the lower ends of the flanges 7b, said extensions being bent around the bottom envelope fastener and over onto the lower end portions of the flanges 6b to thereby serve as means for retaining the fasteners in the container. Further retaining means 5 in the form of an extension id is provided at the lower end of the channel-shaped member 7 and this extension is bent over onto the round portion 10 of the lowermost envelope fastener.
What is claimed is:
A container for envelope fasteners comprising a pair of spaced, parallel, substantially rectangular channel-shaped members adapted to receive transversely extending members of an envelope fastener cruciform in plan, said mem- 7 bers each having a pair of opposite flanges extending outwardly therefrom and substantially at right angles thereto and substantially in the same plane, the corresponding flanges of said members being spaced apart to receive therebetween the longitudinal member of the envelope fastener, means joining said members at the top and means for opening and closing the bottom of the container.
