IMPROVEMENT IN BED-BOTTOMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 196,469, dated October 23, 1877; application filed July 10, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CLINTON MnRRIcK, of Yorkville, Kendall county, Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bed-Bottoms, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to an improvement in bed-bottoms; and it consists in the manner of combining the tie-wires for the purpose of fastening the springs together, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
The accompanying drawings represent my v invention.
(t represents an ordinary spring, and c the tie-wires which form my bottom. Each one of these ties has a hook, (1, formed upon each end, one for fastening to the spring, and the other for catching in an adjoining tie. Each one of the ties is made perfectly straight from the spring down to the point e, where it is bent into a small crook, as shown, for the end of the adjoining tie to catch in. From this crook the tie extends str( ight outward, and at this end it catches in a similar crook in an ad joining tie. Each one of these ties being formed in this manner, they can be connected to the 7 any of the methods heretofore used.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- The combination of the ties 0, formed with their hooks at their ends and crooks in their centers,-with the springs a, substantially as and for the purpose described. 7
