Slovakia, assignor to Zbro ovka akciova sp Czechoslovakia Application December 415,517, and in Czechoslovakia 2 Claims.
The present invention relates to improvements in sheet metal stamping or punching machines and has reference particularly to a manifold ring holder for a plurality of stamp holders, and the invention has for its object to provide means for supporting the holders which are not in use in an arrangement which prevents any rotary movement of the holder during the time it is being supported on the ring.
In the accompanying drawings is illustrated a construction ofstamp holder according to the present invention,
Fig. 1 being a plan view partially in section on the line 11 of Fig. 2,.and
Fig. 2 being a section on the line 11-11 of Fig. 1 seen from above, while Fig. 3 is a section on the line 111-111 of Fig. 2. p
In the drawings 1 is the -formed body of the stamping machine in which is mounted the shaft 2 about which turns the head 3. In suitable apertures in the upper revolving plate 4 are mounted the stamp holders 5 with the stamps or stamping tools 6, and in the lower revolving plate '7 are the corresponding dies 8. The stamp holders 5 with their stamps 6 are moved by means of the plunger 10 in which is formed a groove 12 which fits the head 11 of the stamp holder.
When the plunger 10 is moved up and down by means of an eccentric drive 13 through the hand lever 14, the stamp holder 5 which at the moment is held by its head in the groove 12, and
its stamp is drawn up and pressed down and j performs its stamping operation. In order to bring another stamp into the working position the revolving head is turned into the desired position, a spring pin 15 snapping into a corresponding recess 16 in the lower revolving plate. a The holding device for the stamp holders which forms the subject matter of the present invention consists of a ring R which is rigidly connected with the body 1 and has in the middle a bearing in which it is mounted upon the revolving head 3. The ring R serves both for holding the stamp holders 5 against rotation and also to hold all the stamp holders with the exception of that one which is in the working position, at the desired height. For holding them against rotation the stamp holders are provided at their upper part with recessed portions 18 in which fits the edge unn-Zabrdovice, Czechothe firm eskoslovenska olenost v Brn, Brunn,
Serial No. September 5,
R so that it is made impossible for the stamp holder to turn. In order to hold the stamp holders 5 at the desired height the heads 11 of the stamp holders lie on their inner sides upon the edge of the holding ring R.
Opposite the plunger the holding ring R has a segment shaped recess 20 and on its underside carries a plate 21 which by means of screws 22 is secured to the ring R and with its outer curved edge enters the recess 18 of the stamp holder 5 which is at the moment in the working position, whereby the latter is held against rotation during the stamping operation. The recess 18 for this purpose is given such an axialv length that the stamp is not hindered in carrying out its stroke or working operation.
In the raised position of the plunger, in which the groove 12 lies in the dotted position 12 in Fig. 1, the head 11 of the stamp holder is at exactly the same height as the upper edge of the holding ring R. If now the revolving head is turned in order to bring another stamp into position, the stamp holder which has been in the working position slides out of the groove 12 of the plunger directly on to the upper edge of the holding ring R and will remain at this height. On the further rotation of the holding ring the heads 11 of further stamp holders slide through the groove 12 until the desired stamp is in the working position. '7
In order to remove the stamp holder from the revolving head there is provided one point in the ring B (Fig. 3) a recess 24 in which is fastened a sliding block 25 by means of a screw 26. When this screw 26 is loosened the block 25 which normally extends as far with its outer edge, as the edge of the ring R, can be pushed back so that the stamp holder in this position can be withdrawn and replaced without difficulty.
The arrangement according to the present invention can be carried out in a great variety of ways.
What I claim is:
1. In a multi-stamp stamping machine comoi the ring prising a plurality of headed stamp holders each 3' having a recess below its head, and a plunger for operating the stamp holders, the combination of a manifold holding ring the upper face thereof engageable with the lower face of the stamp holder heads and the periphery thereof engageable of a slidable block disposed on the ring, the ring being provided with a recess in its periphery corresponding to the periphery of a stamp holder to permit axial removal of said holder, and the said block being movable in said recess into and out of engagement with the recesses in the stamp holders.
