The general object of the invention resides in the provision of a heater of this nature which is simple in its construction, strong and durable, comparatively inexpensive to manufacture, compact and convenient in its arrangement of parts, thoroughly eflicient and reliable in use, easy to manipulate, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
lVith the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

The upper end of the frusto-conical shaped top 16 merges into a cylindrical collar 20 in which is fixed the lower end of a tube 21 wh ch rises therefrom and is formed in tWo sections having slideway flanges 22 project- .ing outwardly therefrom and interlocked as at 23 thereby forming a slideway for a valve plate 24 having depending side flanges 25.
A handle is pivotally engaged as at 26 with this valve plate to slide the same to open or closed position, the handle extending out through an opening 56 in the casing.

A. handle 47 on this door 45 may be engaged in a down p0sition in a clip 48 on the wall of the casing which clip also forms a stop limit for the downward movementof the door.
From the above detailed description, it will be seen that I have devised a heater, the parts of which are easy to assemble and take apart thereby permitting ready repair of the various parts and replacement thereof. It will also be seen that the assembly is braced against undue warping from heat and the like and will withstand the normal use to which the heater will be put. These ends are accomplished with a structure which is simple and thoroughly eiiicient and reliable.
An inverted frusto-conical, bafile 50 has its lower edge resting on the upper portion of the top 1 The heater is supported by legs 51 fixed inside the flange 8 and depending therefrom.
It is thought that the construction, utility, and advantages of this invention will now be apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. 7
It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts maybe resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A charcoal heater of the class described including, in combination a cylindrical upright casing, a bottom in the casing, a tube rising through an opening in'the bottom of the easing, a perforated fire box in the casing above the tube, a tube rising from the top of the rseasas
