This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in toys.
The primary object of the invention i sto provide a toy of the spinner or Wh1rl1g1g type that may also be used as a hand operated fan and has particular reference to a Wire frame structure for rotatably supporting a reel block carrying a spinner blade.
With the above and other objects in view 10 that will become apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.
In the aocompanying drawing to which reference is had by like characters designating corresponding parts throughout the several views Figure 1 is a top end elevational view of a toy spinner constructed in accordance with the present invention;
Figure 2 is a side elevational view of a toy spinner showing a single wire strand bent 35 into the form of a supporting frame for-rotatably supporting a real block or spool with a loop at one side of the fra-me constituting a guide. for the operating cord;

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing, there is illustrated a spinner toy comprising a reel block or spool carrying a spinner blade and a single Wire strand bent to provide a supporting frame for the spool. The spool 10 is circumferentially dished or concaved to cause the operating cord wound thereon to be located substantially midway the ends thereof, the cord being guided by a part of the wire frame. Screw pins 11 and 12 are threaded into opposite ends of the 50 winding spool with unthreaded portions of the 'shanks of the screw pins projecting outi wardly of the ends' of the spool to'facilitate mounting of the spool in the Wire frame.

An operating cord 21 is wound' uponhe spool 10V with the inner end thereof anchored to the spool, the free end of the operating cord 21 being threaded through the eye 14 and carrying at its end outwardly of the eye 14,12, gripping device such as a ball 22 of :i greater diameter than the eye 14 to maintain is the cord 21 and ball 22 in operative position.
It will be observed from several of the figures that the bearing eyes 16 and 18 for the screw pins 11 and' 12 are spaced a distance apart greater than the length of the spool 10 so that in the operation of the device, the operating cord in being Wound and unwound from the spool will assume a position centrally of the spool by said cord passingl through the guide eye 14, the spool having a tendency to rise and fall in the guide frame When tension is placed upon the operating cord and preventing the operating cord from becoming entangled with the ends of the spool and the screw pins. It will also be 9:' observed. that a single wire strand is employed for the support of the spool and for attachment to a handle, one end of the wire strand being bent to form an eye, a U-shaped i frame with an intermediate guide eye for m0 the operating cord and another guide eye for rotatably supporting the other end of the spool. It Will be understood that in the operation of the device a pull on the ball 22 Will effect rotation of the spool 10 and spinner blade 17 carried thereby in one direction and When the operating :ord has been completely nnwound from the spool, continued rotation of the spool in the same direction Will effect rewinding of the cord on the spool and properly position the ball 22 relative to the Wire frame for the subsequent o eration.
