My invention relates to a paper guide adapted for use in connection with a paper feeding device for multigraphs or similar machines.
are provided with paper guides which are setby guessing at the width of margin desired and requires considerable experiment until the operator succeeds in setting the guide for the exact margin desired.

Fig. 1 is a side view of a multigraph machine and paper feeder with my improvements mounted thereon.

I have shown my improved paper guide in connection with a printing multigraph machine 11,and paper feeder12. The multigraph machine is mounted on a stand 13 which supports the printing device'14, having the inking mechanism 15 attached thereto.
A stand 16 is spaced from the printing mechanism and supports a'paper feeding device 17. The paper feeding device is driven from an electric motor 18 supported on the stand 13.
The paper feeding device comprises a pair of'rollers 19, 20 journalled in hearings in side members 21 which are attached to the The paper feeders now in use thereto.
A paper guide 30,'having a base31-and an upright guide wall 32, is secured to the blocks as by having brackets 33 suitably secured to the guide wall as by rivets 34. The brackets 33 are provided with apertures 65 35 for reception of screws 36 which are threaded into threaded holes 37 .in the blocks 24. The screws are provided with heads 38 for clamping the brackets to the blocks.

A block 44 is attached to the strap 26 by means of screws 45and is provided with a threaded hole 46 for co-operation with the threads 47 on the screw rod. A handle 48 is attached to the outer end of the screw rod for rotating the screw rod and causing the paper guide to move across the frame guided on the cross rods.
The strap 26 is recessed as at 49 adjacent to the collar 43 to permit the strap and paper guide to'be moved against the side frame member 21. I
A scale 51 is received in a recess 52 in the strap and is clamped in adjustedposition by means of a screw 53 received through a hole in the strap and through a slot 54 in the scale.
A thumb nut 55 received over the threaded end of the screw clamps the scale to the strap. The side member is cut away as at 56 to accommodate the scale. The scale is provided with inch graduations 57 pica type graduations 58 and elite type graduations 59.
In setting the paper guide for guiding paper into the printing machine, the handle is rotated luntil the "graduation on the scale corresponding with the desired margin coine ci'd'es with the outer edge of the side member. This rel'ation Will position the paper guide whereby eachsheet printed will have the desired margin; The scale is adjustable 0n the strap for the purpose of using the same parts on paper feeders of various Widths.
