Description

July 19, 1932. 5 FlEGEL 1,867,969
- NURSING BOTTLE SUPPORT Filed Feb. 17. 1930 2. Sheets-Sheet l Inventor Sielka%aj xs el v Attorney I Patented July 19, 1932 UNITED STATES STELLA MEYERS FIEGEL, OF MARSHALLTEXAS NURSING nortriin surrom' Application filed February 17; 1930. Serial N 14 29,136. I I
This invention relates to bottle supports particularly adapted for supporting nursing bottles.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a support to hold the nursing bottle securely and firmly in natural position to relieve the pressure against the babys gums.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a bottle support of the character referred 1 to that may be decorated with figures of animals to make a more attractive article.
Further objects of the invention are to provide in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a support of the character referred to that is strong, compact and durable, very light in weight, and very simple in construction, and has a pleasing appearance, and is comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of a novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is disclosed an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations, and modifications may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the claim hereto appended. In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of one form of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a section taken substantially on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view thereof,
Fig. 4 is a modified form of the invention, and
Fig. 5 is another modified form of the invention.
Referring to- Figs. 1, 2 and 3 of the drawings, wherein the milk bottle support is formed of light wire, 6 indicates generally a substantially rectangular frame having opposite sides 7, 8 and ends 9, 10. At the corners the frame 6 is supported on legs 11.
The legs 11 are four in number and are formed integral with the frame 6 by bending the ends of the adjacent side and end ofthe frame downwardly as at 12,13 and forming an integral loop 14 at the lower end thereof. The legsat the left'hand end of the frame are shorter than the legs at the right hand end. v
The opposite sides and opposite ends have 65 the legs formed of a; single length of wire that is flexible enough to stand bending and yet rigid enough to support itself'afterbendingl Intermediate the ends of the end,9, this side is formed with a depending yoke-15. The opposite end '10 islikewise'formed with a depending yoke 16. i
Each yoke 15 and 16 is curved and the yoke 15 is notas deep as the yoke 16. The yokes are in alinement with each other so as to support a milk bottle 17 inthe cradle formed by the yokes. l
The yoke 15 is lower than the yoke 16, so as to support the milk bottle .17 at an angle to insure proper draining of the milk from the bottle. The legs at the right hand end being longer than those at the left hand end to maintain the-bottle at an inclination.
In the form of the invention shown in Fig. 4 of the drawings, the frame indicated generally as at 18 has the sides and ends formed of light wood, cardboard, or the like, differing from frame 6 in so far as the sides and ends of the frame are substantially solid. Sheet material resembling celluloid and pyralin could be used to make this frame which could be produced in various colors and that would be non-inflammable. The frame in Fig. 4 may be decorated with pictures.
The lower edges of the sides and ends may be cut out to various configurations 19 for ornamental purposes. The frame 18 is formed with yokes 15', 16 similar in configuration to yokes 15 and 16 of frame 6. In Fig. 5 of the drawings, is shown a frame indicated generally at 20 similar in all respects to frame 18 of Fig. 4, but having the opposite sides 21, 22 of a configuration to represent a duck or figures of birds or animals. All of the various forms of the invention may be painted in various colors.
The ends of the frame 20 are provided with yokes for the bottle, similar in all respects to the yokes 15', 16, and 15, 16. While all of the yokes are shown curved, it is within the contemplation of the invention to have these yokes of any shape to conform to the various shapes of milk bottles.
The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in detail merely for the purpose of exemplification, since in actual I practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention, and the above description.
10 It is to be understood that by describing in detail herein any particular form, structure, or arrangement, it is not intended to limit the invention beyond the terms of the claim or the requirements of the prior art.
15 Having thus described my invention, What I claim as new is:
A nursing bottle support of the class described comprising a substantially rectangular frame including vertical end and side 29 walls With the top and bottom open, some of said Walls having curved recesses. therein forming projections at the corners of the device, the upper end of the rear Wall having an elongated recess therein provided with a 25 substantially flat bottom Wall and the upper end of the front Wall having a substantially semi-circular recess therein of less Width than the other recess first mentioned for receiving the neck of the bottle, the recess in therear my wall receiving the base part of the bottle and said front Wall being of less height than the rear wall for holding the bottle at an inclination.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature. STELLA lVfEYERS FIEGEL.
