` NURSING BOTTLE SUPPORT Filed Oct. 14. 1930 lll lill
lIlll Patented May 10, 1932 PIETRO FALvo, or INDIO, CALIFORNIA Application mea october 14, i930. "serial Nd. arsenaal J The present invention relates to improvements in means for supporting nursing bottles or the like.
An object of this invention is to provide a support for a nursing bottle which is so constructed that it cannot be readily moved by the infant so that it may be placed beside the infant without danger to the bottle becoming broken.
Another object'of this invention is to provide in a support Vmeans for resilient-ly holding a nursing bottle on the support so as to permit the nursing bottle "to have relative movement thereupon.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a resiliently supported frame for a nursing bottle which is so constructed as to permit the ready insertion of the bottle therein, the support embodying means whereby the bottle will not be readily removed by the l infant.
The above and various other objects and advantages of this invention will in part bedescribed in and in part be understood from the following detail description of the pres'- ent preferred embodiment, the same being illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a detail top plan view of a device constructed according to the preferred embodiment of this invention;
Figure 2 is a detail side elevation of the device, and
Figure 3 is a fragmentary sectional view taken on the line 3 3 of Figure 2. Y
Referring to the drawings wherein like nu'- merals of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the'numeral 10 designates generally a base whichis preferably constructed in rectangular con-v guration and having the corners 13 thereof rounded. The base 10 is Vpreferably constructed of metal or from heavy material so that it cannot be readily moved by an infant and a supporting frame generally designated as 11 is mounted upon a plurality of-springs Y or resilient members 12. The frame 11 is constructed so as to substantially follow the configuration of a nursing bottle, the frame 10 being of relativelyat configuration hav- ENT ing' side members Which engage along, the I u sides of the nursing bottle 15 and onefendof they frame 10 has a transverse connecting bar 16 connecting the endsf of the sides 14eI and: frame 11 is provided the opposite end of the v y with a looped member 17 which'is adapted to Vengage the tapering 'oro restrictedf ends of the nursing bottle V15.'
:The springs 12`iare mountedlat one end in openings or apertures 18 in fthe corners of theiframe 11 'and the 0p-V posite ends of the springs '12. are positioned infe'ye members 19 which .are positioned on the base 10. The action of the springs .is
such as to constantly urge the frame 11 with the nursing'bottle 15 positioned therein4 to-` ward the upper surface of the basewlO. f f
In `order to cushion the bottle 15 on the basev 10 there is provided a plurality of "transv versely disposed cushioning members 20 which are spacedly mountedon the base 10 and are preferably so positioned as t0 engage the bottle 15 adjacent each end thereof... j In order to secure the body of the nursing bottle 15 within the frame 11 there is pro# vided an elastic looped strap21 which is mounted on the frame `11 intermediatethe ends thereof and is adapted to engageabout the periphery of the bottle 15, the strap 21V being preferably of endless construction and cooperating with the cushioning members 20 so as to support the bottle 15 onthe base 10. Ido not wish to be limited to a strap 21 of endless construction as,V having a buckle may be facility. e y,
In the 'use of ,this device5 the bottle 15 is adapted'to be inserted in the frame 11, the neck of the bottle being extended through the elastic loop 21 and moved forwardly so as to position the restricted end of the bottle in the loop member 17 The rear of the bottle 15 engages against the transverse bar 16. `The nursing bottle may then be positioned closely adjacent the infant and the framell will be i i u Y if desired, a strap Vused withthe same the fra-me and .engaging a supporting frame acter described, comprising ya base,
It is, of course, understood that various changes and modiiications may be made in the details of construction and design of the above specifically described embodiment of this invention without departing from the spirit thereof, such changes and modifications being restricted only by the scope of the following claims.
1. A nursing bottle support ot the chara bottle supporting frame, resilient means mounted on the base and engaging the iframe whereby to resiliently hold the longitudinal movement on the base and cushioning members mounted on the base and cushioning a bottle supported within ythe frame. r A v v Y '2. A. nursing bottle support of the character described,co1nprising a base, a U-shaped bottlel supporting frame, resilient means mounted on the base and engaging the frame whereby toresiliently hold said frame against lateral or `longitudinal movement on the base, and a resilient securing member mounted on bottle positioned therein, and a looped member secured to the free arms of said frame and VV cooperating with said securing member whereby to hold said'frame coplanar with the longitudinal axis of the bottle disposed therein.
` 3. A nursing bottle support of the character described, comprising a base, a bottle resiliently mounted on the base,l said frame comprising a substantially U..shaped member and a loop secured tothe free endssof said U-shaped member, and an Velastic strap positioned about the frame and engaging a bottle positioned therein whereby tol securely hold the bottle within the frame.
