This invention relates to improvements in life saving suits and more particularly has for its object the provision of a life saving suit or garment which is inflatable with air, which can be readily put on and taken off and which can be readily adjusted to the body of the wearer.

A further object of this invention is the provision of a garment for swimmers which will enable them to stay afloat for an 1ndefinite length of time.

'A further object of my invention is the provision of a life saving suit provided with attachments thereto intended to ward off the impact or attack of animate objects such as sharks or inanimate objects such as floating pieces of lumber or wood.

Further objects of the invention will be apparent from the specification and drawings in which Fig. 1 is a perspective View showing a woman equipped with my improved life saving suit.

Fig. 2 is a perspective rear view of the 2 same garment.

Fig. 3 is a plan view showing the garment worn in a horizontal and extended position.

Numeral 1O designates the rear portion of my floating garment, 11 the front portion.

Part 12 is the helmet, 13 are straps connect- .ing the front and rear. Part 14 is the air valve by which the front and rear of the garment may be simultaneously inflated.

It should be understood that the front and rear portions of the garment are connected by an air tube 17 so that any air forced in the air valve will simultaneously inflate both the front and rear of the garment.

Parts 15 are metallic pointed studs attached to the garment for warding off the attack of sharks or inanimate objects. Numeral 16 denotes the lower rear portion of the garment which has been partly folded and is held by the strap 13.

The garment essentially comprises two parts; a short front shaped very much like a corset and a long rear portion covering the entire back and which, when extended as shown in Fig. 3, will extend beyond the .feet

of the wearer. These two parts are connected together not only by the straps 13 but by the air tube 17 so that both the front and rear of the garment may be simultaneously inflated.

The air valve 14 is for convenience to be upon the rear of the garment. The height of the garment may be adjusted by means of the shoulder straps 18. is made integral with the rear portion of the garment.

It is apparent that the shape of the garment may be changed Without departing from the the metallic studs 15, which may be entirely absent from the garment where the garment is used for purposes of pleasure solely.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim is:

1. In an aquatic garment, a double walled garment having front and rear portions which are simultaneously inflatable and protecting the front andrear body portions of the wearer, the rear port-ion having a greater length than the front portion and being foldable upon itself.

2. In an aquatic garment, front and rear portions, the front portion being connected to the rear portion by straps, and an air tube so that both front and rear portions are simultaneously inflatable, the rear portion being foldable upon itself and being extensible so as to cover the entire length of the wearer when in the water.

3. In an aquatic garment, a double walled spirit of my invention as well as The helmet l2 garment having front and rear portions protecting the front and rear body portions of the wearer, the rear portion having a greater length than the front portion and being foldable upon itself.

4. In an aquatic garment, a double walled garment having front and rear portions protecting the front and rear body portions of the wearer, the rear portion having a greater length than the front portion and being foldable upon itself, protective studs attached to said garment.

5. In an aquatic garment, a double walled garment having front and rear portions protecting the front and rear body portions of the wearer, the rear portion having a greater length than the front portion and being foldable upon itself, and means for keeping said rear portion in a folded con- 5 dition.
