This invention relates to improvements in talking picture vehicles, the object of the invention being to provide a portable talking picture apparatus which is well adapted for advertising purposes.

With the foregoing and other objects in View, the invention consists in the novel combination ofelements which will be more fully described hereinafter and particularly pointed out in the claims.

Referringto the drawings, 1 designates the body of a suitable truck or motor vehicle mounted on wheels 1, within which vehicle body is .mounted a projector 2 equipped with a sound reproducing attachment 3 suitably 30 connected with an amplifier 4; the latter being connected with a plurality of loud speakers 5 preferably mounted on the swinging rear doors 6 of the vehicle, so that when the doors 6 are open the loudspeakers will be presented outwardly in the full line position shown in Fig. 1. The projector and other sound-reproducing apparatus are illustrated only conventionally herein, since these devices are well known and it is deemed unnecessary to describe them in detail.

The bottom of the screen 9 is also rovided with a rod 8, which serves to hold the screen fiat when in unrolled position, and which is also engageable with brackets 7 a at the lower portion of the doors, thus holding the screen unrolled and serving as an additional brace for the open doors.

The ap aratus above described is well adapted f dr advertising talking pictures, atent medicines or any other merchandise 1n connection with which it is desired to present pictures accompanied by sales talk as to the merits of the articles advertised, or by music. For operation, the vehicle is driven to a place whereit is likely to attract attention, whereupon the rear doors are thrown open thus presenting the loud speakers to? ward the expected audience, and the screencarrying rod 8 placed in position in its brackets 7 thus serving to hold the doors open. The screen is then unrolled so as to cover the door opening and the rod 8" engaged with the brackets 7, whereupon the operator actuates the projecting apparatus and its associated sound-reproducing attachment, thus producing the desired pictures and spoken words or music synchronously. When it is desired to move to another location, the screen is rolled up, removed from its brackets and stored away inside the vehicle body, whereupon the doors may be closed, the loud speakers being thus brought to the dotted line position shown in Fig. 1. From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a very compact apparatus by means of which advertising matter comprising pictures and spoken words or music may be advantageously exhibited and which can at a moments notice be set in operation and as (auickly closed, whereby the exhibition can be isplayed at locations far apart within a comparatively short space of time.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is: v

1. A ortablegtalking picture apparatus, comprising a vehicle having swinging doors, a projector and sound-reproducing device mounted in said vehicle, a plurality of loud speakers mounted on said doors in position to face outward when the doors are open, and removable means for supporting a screen between said open doors and efiective to retain said doors in open position.

2. A portable talking picture apparatus, comprising a vehicle having swinging doors, a projector and sound-reproducing evice mounted in said vehicle, a plurality of loud speakers mounted on each of said doors in position to face outward when the doors are open and to be enclosed within the vehicle when the doors are closed, and removable means for supporting a screen between said open doors and efi'ective to retain said doors in open position.

A portable talking picture apparatus, comprising a vehicle having swinging doors, a projector and sound-reproducing device mounted in said vehicle, a plurality of loud speakers mounted-on each of said. doors in position to face outward when the doors are open and to be enclosed within the vehicle when the doors are closed, means for supporting a screen between said open doors, and means for retaining said screen in flat condition.

4. A portable talking picture apparatus, comprising a vehicle having swinging doors, a projector and sound-reproduclng device mounted in said vehicle, a plurality of loud speakers mounted on each of said doors in position to face outward when the doors are open and to be enclosed within the vehicle when the doors are closed, brackets carried by the doors near their upper and lower ends, and rods removably supported in said brackets for supporting and retaining a screen in flat condition between the open doors, said rods being effective to maintain the doors in open position.
