IMPROVEMENT IN BUTTON-STRAPS FOR SUSPENDERS..
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,942, dated August 8, 1876; application tiled Aprn 6, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES B. SHARP, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Suspender- Strap, which invention is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which- VFigure 1 k represents a perspective view of a suspender provided with my improved strap when applied to a cast-oli' buckle-connection. Fig. 2 is a detached view of my strap when applied to a permanent buckle-connection. Ilig. 3 is a plan ot' my improved strap provided with a slot in the middle. Fig. 4 is a similar view ot' my strap when provided with a hole in the middle.

This invention consists in a button-strap for Suspenders, provided with an elongated slot at or near the middleiof its length, in com bination with a permanent or cast-oft' buckleconnection, so that said rbutton-strap can be attached to the buckle without requiring any extra labor.

My button strap may either be made of Woven fabric or of leather. When the same is woven, the elongated slot a is preferably' produced during the operation of weaving, but when it is made ot' leather the elongated slot a is punched out, and, it' desired, such elongated slot may be strengthened by a suitlable eyelet.
The button-strap being provided with an elongated slot, a, it can slide on the buckleconnection, and it is free to accommodate itself to the motions ot' the body of the person wearing the suspender.
I am aware that asuspender-strap provided with a button-hole at each end and a circular hole at its center for engagement with the tongue ot' a buckle is not new, and such I do not claim but What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A button-strap for Suspenders, provided at or near the middle of its length with the elongated slot a, for engagement with a permanent or cast ol buckle connection, substantially as described and shown, and for tho purpose set forth.
