The device shown in the drawings comprises a clamp l which is provided with a felt or like lining 3 and adapted to be secured by means of a clamping screw 2 to the head of a violin or similar stringed musical instrument. The clamp has a bore 4 for the reception of a standard in the form of a stout wire 5 adapted to be adjusted longitudinally in the clamp and to secured thereto in various positions by means of a set-screw 9. The upper end of the standard is formed with a hook 6 from which a plurality of finger rings 8 is suspended by means of elastic strings 7 composed of rubber or wire coils.
The standard is preferably bent so that, with the clamp between the tuning pegs, as shown in Fig. 4, the upper part of the standard leans towards the finger board. The instrument is held in the usual way, and the fingers are inserted in the rings 2 and exercised together with the wrist in opposition to the elastic strings.
