IMPROVEMENT IN PORTABLE DERRICKS.

My invention consists of an adjustable crane mounted on a truck-platform, having an overhead framet'or the support of the upper end of the crane-post, and braces for staying the frame, so that the crane can be turned around to overhang the sides, the whole being asimple and efficient apparatus, which may be moved readily from place "to place by hand or by horse-power.

A is the platform of a truck-frame, mounted on wheels 13. O is the overhead supportingframe, in which, and on the aforesaid frame A, is mounted the revolving post D of a crane,
the sweep E of which is supported adjustably by a rope, F, and a windlass, G, said Windlass, and also the Windlass H of the hoisting-rope I, being mounted on post D to turn with it. J v
is a platform for the operator to stand on when working the hoisting-rope. K' represents the braces for staying the frame laterally when hoisting over the sides.
This arrangement is simple and cheap, and is calculated to afford an efiicient means for raising heavy weights.
Having'thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patcutl. The combination, in'a portable derrick, of the post D,sweep E, adjusting-cord F, windlass G, and the hoisting-rope and Windlass, all constructed and arranged as set forth.
