LIGHTING Application filed July 22,
The present invention relates to lighting fixtures. 7
An object of the invention is to provide a lighting fixture having an opaque metal a reflector whichis supported on a glass ring or sector above the light source so that some light may pass upwardly through this glass ring to permit even distribution of light and V shadowless ceiling illumination of reduced 19 intensitybut suflicient to eliminate darkness from the upper part of the room.
The Y accompanying drawings show, for purposes of illustration one form of my invention, it being understood that the draw-V ings are illustrative of the invention rather than limiting the scope of the same.

. Two sizes of lamp are indicated at 26,,andv 28, respectively, and the position of an adapter to support a small size lamp bulb 7 FREDERICK o. RUNGE.
Figure 2 is an enlarged vertical sectional 2 view through thereflectorholder elements comprising the supporting-sleeve, glass diffuser ring and its locking ring over its upper flange; and
Figure 3 is a top plan view, partly in 7 ,section, of parts shown in Figure 2.
A fragment of a fixture supporting element is shown at 10. It may be in the form of a pipe, chain, loop or other device. It supports a lamp socket 11 which may be either a porcelain base Edison type lamp socket or a Mogul base lamp socket, as desired. A metal socket cover or cap 12 is also secured in any desired manner to the lower end ofthe suspension element about the lamp socket.
The socket cover 12 is provided with a number of holes 16 to accommodate thumb. screws 17 adapted to be threaded through bushings 19 and thereby'support a metal sleeve 18. The lower end of this sleeve is flanged as indicated at 19 to supporta glass 7 i diflusing ring 20, flanged about its lower edge as indicated at 21 and provided with lugs 22. The lugs 22 are adapted to pass through notches 25. in a metal reflector 25 and permit removably supporting the reflector on the glass flange. A metal locking ring 24 is placed about the sleeve 18 and is adapt-
