This invention relates to devices for hanging and operating doors and, more especially, those of large size such as employed in automobile garages, warehouses, machine shops and the like.
llhe object of the invention, generally, is to provide devices of this character which will be of inexpensive and durable construction, and eflicient in operation.
A more specific object is to provide door suspending means adapted to cooperate with the door hinges to support heavy doors so that they cannot sag, and permitting the same to bereadily swung 'in their opening and closing movements.
A further object is to provide conveniently actuated means remote from the door to effect movement thereto by utilizing the door supporting devices as parts of the door operating appliances.
Other specific objects and advantages of the invention will appear in. the following description.
The invention consists in the novel construction, adaptation and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

Figure 1 is a front, elevational view of a room wall provided with a doorway, a side wall of the room in transverse section, and a pair of hinged doors equipped with an embodiment of my invention: Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a fragmentary front elevation, partly in section through 33 of Fig. 4, illustrating to an enlarged scale the applicationof the door braces, hangers, and carriage'mounting as utilized with a sidewall track; Fig. 4 is a view partly in horizontal section and partly in plan of parts shown in Fig. 3; Fig. 5 is a view in front elevation of the door operating means; and Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a carriage track and bracket assembly.
In Figs. 1 and 2, to which reference is now had, 10 and 11 represent a pair of doors for a doorway 12 in a front wall 13 of a building and adjacent to a side wall 14 thereof.
As shown, these doors are connected to the wall 13 at opposite sides respectively of the doorway by means of hinges 15 so as to be inafter designated as the tie-rod, is disposed ,7 horizontally, or nearly so, and has one of its ends pivotally connected by a pin 181 for vertical adjustment to a coupling 182 which, in turn, is connected for horizontal swinging movement, by means of a pin 20, to Ian at tachment 21 secured to the free side of the door. The other end of a tie-rod is pivotally connected for vertical adjustment by means of a pin 18 3 to a winged connector 22 which,
in turn, is connected for horizontal swinging movement by means of a pin 221 (Fig. 4;)
to a block 23. The other above mentioned rod 19, hereinafter termed the suspensionrod, is pivotallyconnected by means of a pin 191 for vertical adjustment to said connector 22 and is thus horizontally in unison with the tie rod 18 for operating the door. The suspension rod 19 extends downwardly in angular relation with respect to the tie rod 18 and has its lower end pivotally connected for verticalv adjustment to a coupling 192 (Fig. 1) which, in turn, is pivotally connected for horizontal swinging movements by means of a pin 20 to an attachment 21 secured to the door, in spaced relation with the attachment 21. a
With respect to the door 10 adjacent to a side wall, as 14, the block 23 is connected by means of a horizontally disposed swivel pin 7 24 with a carriage or trolley 27 mounted to move to and fro in a horizontal track 25 of known construction, preferably of the U- type, which is secured to the wall as by means of brackets26.

In combination with a building structure and a door hingedly connected thereto, a track secured to the structure in spaced rela tion with a wall thereof, a trolley mounted to travel on the track, a block, a swivel pin connecting said block to the trolley, two rods disposed in relative angular relation one above the other and connecting said block to the door in proximity to the free side of the latter, the connections of said rods with the block and the door permitting vertical adjustments of the rods and horizontal swinging movements to both the door and the rods flexible connections with said trolley, means for actuating said flexible connections to impart door closing and opening movements selectively to the trolley and the rods, and means for releasably securing the door in a selected position.
9. In combination with a building structure and a door hingedly connected thereto, a track secured in rigid relationship with respect to said structure, a trolley arranged to travel on said track, operating devices connecting said trolley with the door, and means associated with said trolley to impart door opening and closingmovements to said operating devices.
