The upper ends are attached to the under side of B and B and at their nearest parts the beam G is placed between them and held by a bolt. These knees extend above the beam so that the part 0 is placed between the knees of opposite sides and serve as a brace above the beam.
D and D are the rear knees circular in form and they extend from the runners to the bodysill L.
E is one of the forward knees also circular in form and extends from the runner to the bodysill.
F is the forward beam and is fastened between the knees E and B with a bolt passed through them.
Gr is the middle beam and is held between the knees C and G by a bolt being put through them.
H is the hind beam and is fastened to the top of the circular brace I and the same draft at the forward part of the runner to the rear of the sleigh and is fastened on the top of each beam.

N is the dashboard, and may be made of any desired form or size and it extends from the beam F around the forward part of M and as far up the part L as is desired.
The beams are arranged one higher than the other to suit the shape of the body and to give strength laterally by having the union of the knees and beams each on a line independent of the other.
