This invention relates to display supports and has for its object to provide a device of the class specified, simple in construction, efficient in operation, economical of manufacture and foldable into small compass for shipping and storage. l

To these 'ends my improvements comprise features illustrated in their preferred embodiment in the drawing accompanying this specication, wherein:

Figure 1 is a rear perspective view of my improved device in erected condition. Fig. 2 is a detail fragmentary front elevation of the mid-portion of the device. Fig. 3 is a section on line 3 3 of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a section on line 1 4 of Fig. 1 and Fig. 5 is an elevation corresponding therewith. Figs. 2 and 3 are to a scale four times, and Figs. l and 5, ten times that of Fig. 1.

My improvements comprise primarily two long members 5 and G and one shorter member 2, one end of memberQ being pivoted to the mid-portions of the other two members respectively by rivet 7 and on which rivet said members are adapted to swivel so that meinbers 5 and 6 may be folded into parallelism with member 2.

Shorter member 2 may be provided with a transverse bend at 16 so that said member may act as an easel leg when the device is erected, Fig. 1. F or'packing, said leg may be bent down against member 5.

Said members 2, 5 and G are preferably made of sheet metal and have the lengthwise edge portions thereof, as 5a, 5b of member 5, folded over onto or toward the body portion to add stiffness of construction.

To enable the device to be packed compactly each of members 5 and G comprises a lower portion and an upper `portion telescoped together. To that end said portions are separable as at 8, member 6, whereby the upper portion 6 thereof may be removed from the main portion 6. To that endinember 6, Figs. 2 and 3, has the end portions of its opposite folded over edges cut away, leaving the end 9 of the body portion projecting` downward beyond what remains ofthe folded over edge portions. The upper 'and lower ends of members 5l and 6 have their folded over edges flattened down against their body portions respectively, so as to enter easily between the folds 12, 13 of the well known metal end strips as 14; of display sheet15 to be stretched and supported by my improved device, as shown in Figs. V1, 4L and 5.

I claim:

1. In a display support the combination of two long crossed members and one shorter member, said shorter member being pivoted near one end thereof to said long members at their pointy of crossing, said crossed members having their lengthwise edges folded over toward the body of the members respectively, each of said crossed members comprising a lower portion and an upper portion telescoped together, the folded-over edges near the end of one of said portions being cnt away whereby the remaining body portion may engage between the body portion and folded-over edges of the other portion.

2. In a display support the combination of two long crossed members and-one shorter member, said shorter member being pivoted near one end thereof to said long members at their point of crossing, said crossed members having their' lengthwise edges folded over toward the body of the members'respectively, each of said crossed members comprising a lower portion and an upper portion telescoped together, the foldedover edges .near the end of one of said portions being cnt away whereby the remaining` body portion may engage between the body portion and folded over edges of the other portion and a pressed-np button in one ofthe engaging ends of said portions and a corresponding pocket in the other of said engaging ends for interlocking.

3. In a display support the combination of two long crossed members and one shorter member, said shorter member being pivoted near one end thereof to said long members at their point of crossing, said crossed members having' their lengthwise edges folded over to- Ward the body of the members respectively, each of said crossed members comprising a lower portion and an upper portion telesooped together, the folded-over edges near the end of one of said portions being out away whereby the remaining body portion may engage between the body portion and folded-over edges of the other portion and the folded-over edges near the end of the other portion being out away whereby the r-nnariningV body portion may not as a brace against said first mentioned portion.
