Description

G. E. WILLIAMS. LOCKS FOR FIRE ARMS.
Patented' Nov. 16, 1875.
GEORGE E. WILLIAMS, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN LOCKS FOR FIRE-ARMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. H70,03, datedNovemher 16, 1875; application filed December 24, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE EDWARD WILLIAMS, of the city and county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented a Self-Cooking Gun or Pistol Lock, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to make a self-cocking gun or pistol lock which will be simple and effective in its workings, and which will not be liable to get out of order. The trigger c is made with a slotted arm, g, for the purpose of holding a pawl or self-acting lever, a, which is jointed to the arm g. There is also a spring, h, attached to the arm of the trigger c g, which acts upon the arm f of the self-acting lever a. The hammer of the lock is represented by b. Back of the hammer b is a spring, k, which throws the hammer forward upon the cartridge or cap to be exploded. The spring 2', in front of the trigger c, throws the trigger back into place. The arm or projection f of the self-acting lever a, when the trigger c is pulled, rises until it strikes the stop-pin e, which throws the self-acting lever 00 out of the notch in the hammer 1), allowing the hammer to fall.
I claim as my invention- The combination of the trigger 0 and g with the pawl a and f, the spring h, and the stoppin 6, substantially as and for the uses and purposes hereinbefore described.
GEORGE E. WILLIAMS. Witnesses:
