It is further "object" of: this. invention to provide seesaw which. 'will prove eflicient' and" satisfactory inuse and at thesame time comparatively inexpensive to manufacture. As a means for preventing the rocking elementfrom tilting laterally, diagonally dis-. posed braces'22 and 23 are provided at each side and the upper ends of the braces are in I contact above the longitudinal center of the frame. The braces of one side are connected to the braces of the other side by a block or strip 24 and the braces and element 24 are appropriately secured together by fastenings 25 such as nails or the like. The braces 22 and 23 may be connected to the sides of the base through the use of filling blocks such as 16, but other means may be provided for accomplishing this result. The strip 24 acts as a means for limiting the rocking motion of theelement 17, by reason of the fact that the braces 18 will encounter the said strip when undue rocking motion is imparted to the member 17 p I As the operation of the device scribed in connection with-the description oi the various parts of the device, a rsum of the operation is believed unnecessary. I claim:
1. In an amusement device, a base, an
oscillatable element thereon wider than the base and projecting from the edges of the base, said oscillatable element being upward- 1y curved at its ends, braces connecting the I upturnedportions for maintaining them in certain positions, seats on the oscillatable element near its ends, means at the edge of the said element'for preventing lateral movement thereof, and means for limiting the oscillatory movement of the said element.
2. In an amusement device, a base, an oscillatable element having its ends upwardhas been de;
oscillatable element thereon having its ends upwardly curved and wider than the base,
means'for connecting the upwardly curved portions of the oscillatable element thereon together for bracing the same and maintaiii' ing it rigid, seats near the ends of the element, foot rests on the said element below the seats, and upstanding braces at the sides of the element for preventing lateral movement of the element and having means for limiting the oscillatory movement of the said element. 4. In an amusement device, an oscillatable element comprising a strip of material bowed to form a rocker, braces having their endsanchored to the saidelement near its end for V holding the strip in a bowed shape, seats on the said oscillatable element, andabase narrower than the oscillatable element on which said oscillatable element is supported.
