This invention relates to identification and advertising means for such articles as key cases, billfolds, cigar cases, traveling v*ba-gs and other like articles apt to be lost or mis placed. v v

I am aware of the fact that it is quite common to provide in such articles al pocket covered by a transparent window, the pocket being so arrangedv that an identification or advertising card may be slipped into it beneath the transparent window. However. with devices of this character the difficulty exists that it is easy for any vperson to remove the card and replace it with another so that the article may be stolen and used by another person without in any way indicating the theft.

One object of the present invention is to provide in the construction of the article before selling the same to a person a per nianently inclosed identification caid which can only be ieinoved by damaging the arr ticle or breaking the window.

I ain also aware that even vpocketbooks and the like have been gotten up with transparent pockets in which the advertiser inserted his business card, but it has been custo remove this business card and thus the value of the advertising was destroyed.

A second important object of the invention is to provide an improved device of this character wherein such advertising card will be permanently secured and form an integral part of the device as manufactured.` 'l

Many persons object to placing their names and address on bunches of keys and the like for the reason that such bunches, if lost, are apt to fall into the hands of dishonest persons and with the address and naine affixed gives such dishonest persons information as to what house or apartment they can have access to through such keys.

A third important object of the invention is to provide a permanent identihcation card means which will not only constitute in itself an advertisement but will enable the owner ofthe article to have the same returned without his being known to any other person than the person or firm who sold him such article.

With the above and other objects in View as will be hereinafter apparent, the invention consists in general of certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the yaccompanying drawings and specifically claimed.

In the accompanying L drawings like characters of reference indicate like parts in the several views, and:

In carrying` out the inventionit is to be understood that the key case here shown is an embodiment of any .similar article to which the device can be applied and, while perhaps most useful in key cases and billfolds and the like, it may be used with a Wide variety of articles. However, in the present showing, there is provided an outer or body sheet 10 having a lining 11 of uniform size and shape with the body sheet ysecured around all of its edges to said body sheet by i 30 tomary for the person receiving the article stitching 12. This device is so foldable as to provide a wing 13 which may be .folded on the central portion and a wing 14 foldablc onto the wing 18 upon the latter being folded on the central portion. In one oi' both of the wings 13 and 14 there is provided in the body sheet a window opening 15 and between this window opening and the lining 11 is mounted a transparent closure 1G. Between the closure and the lining is an identification or advertising card 17. When but one wing is provided with such an opening it is -preferably the wing 13 so that the identification or advertising card is normally hidden. Snap button parts 18 may be used to hold the wings closed. As will be observed from an `inspection of Figure 1 the identification card for the wing 13 bears an inscription or printed matter indicating that the key case or other article is registered under a certain number, the card also showing the name and address of the company with whom the registration has been effected, it is intended that a company buying articles of this class for sale or for advertising purposes will be supplied with consecutively numbered cards and that the company whose name appears thereon as the seller or distributor will keep a register of the names of the purchasers and their addresses under corresponding numbers. Consequently, when a person finds a lost article thus marked there will be no incentive for him to retain the article as he will not know to whom the keys or the like belongs and he will return it to the seller or distributor who can look up his register and can return it to the owner. There has thus been provided a simple and eliicient device of the kind described and for the purpose specified.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is:

l. A device of the class described including a body sheet and a lining of the same size as the body sheet and secured per manently throughout its peripheral portion to the peripheral portion of the body sheet, said body sheet and lining being 'oldable to provide a central portion, a wing foldable onto the central portion and a second wing vfoldable onto the first wing upon the latter' being folded onto the central portion, said first wing having a window opening in the body sheet normally covered by the second wing, a transparent closure for said opening secured between the body sheet and lining, and a card held between the closure and lining.

A device of the class described including a body sheet and a lining of the same size as the body sheet and secured permanently throughout its peripheral portion to the peripheral portion of the body sheet, said body sheet and lining being foldable to provide a central, portion, a wing oldable onto the central portion and a second wing foldable onto the rst wing upon the latter being folded onto the central portion, said irst wing having a window opening in the bodyY sheet normally covered by the second wing, a transparent closure for said opening secured between the body sheet and lining, a card held between the closure and lining, said lining having a window opening in the second wing portion, a transparent closure for the second window opening secured between the body sheet and lining, and a second card held between the second closure and the body sheet.
