device and whichat the same time maintains the cards for easy access when inspectionls desired. j
The invention also aims at the provision of an improved flexible frame peculiarly constructed for supporting there1n 'transparent panels or side portions to provide pocketsv in which may be placed the cards and which admits of the inspection of the entire'opposite sides of the cards.
Another object of the invention is to provide a'structure for card case which admits of the use of a plurality of the same which may be secured together in book form, so that a number of cards may becarried', protected.
and be ready'for inspection as regards their opposite sides without removing 'the cards from the case or adjusting any of the parts of the case.
With the foregoingand other objects in view, the invention will be more fullyde-- scribed hereinafter, and will bemore particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto. I

Referring first to Figures 2 to 5, inclusive, the card-case comprises a body frame 15,
which is of any suitable"configuration but which in the present instance is of general rectangular shape and "which is adapted to be folded over" upon itself to provide end portions" 'of equal length providing a pair of leaves. The frame 15 has a central hinge portion 16 which extends from'edge'to edge across the body frame and which is adapted to be creased or folded over ,tosupport the leaves. Each leaf is provided with an elongated central opening 17 adapted to be closed by a backing sheet 18 of celluloid or other suitable transparent material of sufficient size'to' partially overlap the marginal edge portion ofv the adjacent opening'17, and which is of lesswidth than that of the body frame 15 to leave a marginal edge portion 19 of the body frame'tobe turned over for securing the backing sheet '18 to the leaf. The marginal edge portion 19 of the frame 15 provides a flapwhich extends lengthwise of the body frame or blank, and
there is a flap 19 ateach longitudinal side of the body frame. Each end 'of the body frame 15 is provided with a flap20,which extends beyond the adjacent end of the backing sheet 1 8 and is adapted to be turned over to holdthe backing sheet in place.
A reinforcing hinge strip '21 is superposed upon the hinge strip 16 of theframe and forms part of the frame, andis of' sufli cient width to slightly overlap the adjacent inner edges of the backing sheets 18 to hold the latter in place, as shown in. Figures 4E.
5. "The. facingsheets 22 arefof less length.
than the backing sheets 18,1so as to dispose theinner edges of ,the facing sheets in proximity to the opposite edges ofthe reinforcing' hinge strip 21. The facing sheets 22 are provided with, finger notches or. recesses, 28
. inftheir inneredges to facilitate the drawing or bulgin outwardly of the facing sheets 22 for the; introdnctiom of a card or, the like in the pocket thus formed As shown in Figure 1, a plurality of these card cases, assho'wn in Figure 4; may be, placed one within thei other and the hinge portions may be secured together by one 01: u

The partition sheets'27 are free at their opposite side sheets38 and 29 may, be placed against opposite sideswofjthe partition sheet 27and. at the same time the :facing sheets .attheir marginal edge portions may be securedtogether, beneath the over-turned edges of llhfli frameQfi u The for-m 5110mm. 3. A card case comprising a frame formed of a single piece of material and foldable upon itself to provide a pair of leaves, each leaf having a central opening therein and an integral over-turned outer marginal portion, a pair of transparent panes arranged in superposed relation upon each leaf and beneath the over-turned marginal portion thereof and mean-s securing the edges ofthe. transparent panes together and holding the overturned marginal portions in place thereon.
4:. A card case comprising a'frame foldable upon itself to provide a pair of leaves and a hinge portion connecting the leaves, each leaf of the frame having a central opening therethrough, a pair of transparent reinforcing hinge strip secured over said hinge portion of the frame and adapted to overlap the inner end of the transparent sheet of each pair lying adjacent to its respective leaf the other transparent sheet of each pair terminating at the lateral edge of the reinforcing hinge strip and provided with a thumb notch to facilitate separation of the transparent sheets and introduction of articles therebetween.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention, ,1 have signed my namehereto.
