The tension devices 6 mounted on the rods 13 may be of any kind suitable and as shown are of the well known form in which a lower disc with a sleeve is mounted to be revolved about a pivot and furnished with a clownwardly pressing disc placed around the sleeve so that yarn being passed between the discs is subject to drag or tension thereby while revolving them. The guides 5 for yarn may be of any kind suitable and are shown as of the form described in the complete specification of application for British Letters Patent No. 17,473, of 1911, and presenting overlapping fingers extending over gaps between them and forming guide eyes. For each yarn to be guided there are provided two'of the guides 5 and tension device 6 and the two guides 5 and the tension device 6 are so provided are mounted on a block secured by a set screw in an appropriate position on one of the rods 13. The brackets '11 are provided with ribs 141: and the channel bars 7, 8 are made to embrace those ribs 1 1 so as to be in rigid connection with the brackets 11. Longitudinal channel bars 15 are applied with the flanges downwards on the upper ends of the upright bars 7, 8 and are secured to them for example, by bolts and junction brackets or gus-"sets. The longitudinal bars 15 extend each in one length or connected lengths along the upper part of each side of the creel and at convenient intervals support cross channel bars 16 bolted to them with the flanges upward and extending a little beyond the longitudinal bars 15 at each side of the creel. To the upright bars 7, 8 at one end of the creel are fixed arms 1.7 extending transversely out- Wards from the creel and formed or provided .with guide eyes for yarn. There is one arm 1.7 for the series of tension devices 6 and thread guides 5 on each rod 13 and in that arm 17 a hole 18 for each of the threads led from each of such tension devices 6 and the thread guides 5'used with it. Ina creel for receiving yarn bodies and presenting them in positions for yarns to be drawn from them and led to respective places, a stationary :t'rame' for supporting thread guides, comprising two stationary structures fixed in position with space be tween them and presenting corresponding inwardly directed faces to one anotherand supporting and guiding means extending parallel one to another between said stationary structures for supporting a movable frame and guiding it parallel to itself, thread guides mounted on said stationary structures for guiding yarns from yarn bodies to their respective places of passage from the creel, a movable frame which is supported on said supporting means and guided parallel to itself thereby and extends lengthwise between the stationary structures of said stationary frame, presents longitudinal faces fixed in definite and constant relative position and respectively'parallel to the inwardly directed faces of said stationary structures and is movable nearer to and further away from said stationary structures only in its totality parallel to itself and yarn body supports on said movable frame for receiving and holding yarn bodies, movement of said movable frame as a whole parallel to itself enabling said yarn body supports to be moved towards and away from the thread guides.

In a creel fol-receiving yarn bodies and presenting them in positions for yarns to be drawn from tl enr and led to respective places, a, stationary frame for supporting thread guides and yarn tensioning devices, comprising two stationary structures fixed in position with space between them and presenting corresponding inwardly directed faces to one another and supporting and guiding means extending parallel one to another betwecn said stationary structures for supporting a movable frame and guiding it parallel to itself, thread guides and yarn 'tensioning devices mounted on said stationary structures for guiding yarns from yarn bodies to their respective places of passage from the creel, a movable frame which is supported on said supporting means and guided parallel to itself thereby and extending lengthwise between the stationary struc tures of said stationary frame, presents longitudinal faces fixed in definite and constant relative position and respectively parallel to the inwardly directed faces of said station.

In a creel for receiving yarn bodies and presenting them in positions for yarns to be drawn from them and led to respective places, a stationary frame for the support of guides comprising two statlonary structures fixed in position with space between them formed of upright, and longitudinal bars presenting corresponding inmounted on such rods for guiding yarns from yarn bodiesto their respective places of passage from the creel, a movable frame which is supported on-said cross bars and movable on and, guided parallel to itself thereby comprises plates supported and movable on and guided by said cross bars and supporting uprights and longitudinal bars carried by said uprights to carry yarn body supports and is movable nearer to and further away from said stationary structures only in its totality parallel to itself and yarn body supports on the longitudinal bars on said uprights for receiving and holding yarn bodies and means for moving said movable frame, movement of said movable frame as a whole parallel to itself enabling said yarn body supports to be moved towards and awayfrom the thread guides.
