In describing my invention in detail, retwill be had to the accompanyingdrawings wherein like characters denote 20 like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 isa view'ot av shoe with its heel broken away to show the device in use.

In these views, 1 indicates a casing, the under part 2 of which is made in the shape of a heel with its sides extended to form the flanges end op to the 3. The casing is termed with one en and this end is curved to contorm curved cnd oi the under part. A
large central opening t, with beveled edges, is formed in the bottom of the casing and smaller openings 5 are made in the under part around the edges thereof to receive nails for fastening the device in a hole in the heel.

with a hole 6 adjacent its open end which registers with one of the holes 5 so that a nail 7 can be passed through the two holes to hold one or more plates 8 in the casing. Figures 1 and 2 show a single plate in the casing, while Figure 4 shows two plates ready to be placed in the casing. After the plate or plates, is put in place, the nail is passed through the two holes and bent over, as shown in. F igure 1. This will hold the plates in position. A hole is then cut in the heel, with countersunk portion tor the flanges 3 and the device placed therein, with its lower face flush with the surface Of the. heel. The device is fastened in the hole by nails 9 or the like and it will be seen that when the wearer of the shoes provided with the invention dances, the movement of the plate 8 in the casing will make a clacking sound.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes tall with in the scope of the appended claims.
hat I claim is 1. An attachment for a dancing shoe comprising a hollow easing secured in the heel flush with its base, and provided with an opening at the base, and a tr ely movable resonant plate nesting; over the opening. 7
2. In a dancing shoe, a hollow casing buried flush in the heel, and opening, in the base of the hollow casing of less area than the casing bottom,a movable plate resting: on the e( ges of said opening and an anxih iary opening at the rear of the casing.
