This invention relates "to an apparatus for arranging thee'dg'es of'neUfitbi Ic In a net-making machine for mterlocked -=ne't- -'ting, and has for its object to provide *simple and efficient neans whereby the net fabric may bula-ken up, and the meshes making the edges of net fabric may be kept in shape.
The apparatus according to the present invention is designed for the use in well known net-making machines, in which a working platform consisting of astationary plate, a reciprocating plate positioned snbstantially flush and in close contact with the said stationary plate, both plates being provided with a series of working grooves connected by an intermediate groove extending across the said two plates, the twisting operation of the strands being accomplished by the rotation of the strand carriers del vering to the first named grooves whilst the interlocking operation of the twisted strands is effected by the rotation of the strand carriers delivering to the second named grooves, means being provided whereby the reciproeating plate is shifted during the course of the twisting operation, in order to have the net fabric keep its meshes making the edges in shape.

My way of example, 1 and 2 represent the reciprocating plate and the stationary plate of the working platform respectively. 3 represents the working groove upon which spools or strand carriers are to be operated, consisting of three circular holes which are grouped in proximity to each other and extend transversely in several rows, forming somewhat circular corrugated grooves there in. the intermediate holes extending both into the stationary plate 2 and reciprocating plate 1. \Vithin each of the said three holes constituting the working grooves aforesaid is inserted a cam roller 4 which has concave surface a and convex surface I), and is supported by a flat arm extending upwardly from the lower platform (not shown). In'eat i of "the-two side werktnggiooves 3 and within the spaces left' be't-ween the outer c'rincavc -walls o f 'the respective can-1 rollers tlntl' tlte inner concave walls of the respective grooves is inserted a working head 5, of a shape substantially complementary to that of the said spaces, through each of which heads extends a pipe storing the strand within the bore thereof. \Vith such arrangement, the strands carried by the respective heads are twisted and doubled through the operation of rotating the two side cam rollers 4 and consequential rotation of the working head 5 and the interlocking of the twisted strands is effected by causing the working heads positioned within the working groove of the stationary plate 2 to be replaced by the working heads positioned within the working groove of the reciprocating plate, by to tating the intermediate rollers to a certain extent, while the two side cam rollers are at rest.
The apparatus embodying the invention is composed of a take-up roller 6 and two endless belts 7 provided with a plurality of catch pins 8, engaging the ends of the said take-up roller 6. The taking-up roller 6 is mounted on a shaft 9 which is journaled on a bearing block 10 mounted on a bearing 11 so as to allow lateral sliding motion, and is adapted to be intern'iittcntly driven from a driving shaft 12 toothed wheels 13. 14, 15, shaft 16, mntL lated wheels 17, 18, 19, toothed wheel 2H, shaft 21, bevel wheels 22, 23, shaft 24, worm 25, worm wheel 26, shaft 27, toothed wheel 28, change tooth wheel 29, tooth wheel 30 secured to the said shaft 9, and also is adapted to be laterally reciprocated intermittently from an eccentric 31 which is adapted to be intermittently rotated, through eccentric rod 32, pivoted lever 33, to which said shaft- 9 is pivotally connected at 34. The surface of the take-up roller 6 is made to have friction enough to take up the net fabric as it is made by frictional engagement therewith, by any suitable means, for example, by winding a strip band of suitable material around the surface of said take-up roller. The endless belts 7 having the plurality of the catch pins 8 are placed over the ends of the take-up roller 6 and suitable guide rollers (one of which is shown at 35, the others not being'shown) as shown in Figs. 2 and 3 to be rotated and moved by the said take-up roller to catch the proper meshes by the catch pins 8 and to keep the meshes ot' the generated net fabric in shape.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is the change toothed 1. An apparatus for arranging edges of net fabric in net-making machines for interlocked netting, which consists of a take-up roller, means to intermittently rotate and reciprocate laterally said take-up roller two endless belts put over the ends of the said take-up roller and a plurality of catch pins secured to each of said endless belts.
2. An apparatus as claimed in the claim 1, in which the take-up roller is adapted to be rotated at several selected speeds by exchanging toothed Wheels in the means for rotating said take-up roller.
