My present invention relates to a combined arette-holder case and pencil #especially apted for pocket Iuse or personal'wear, and designed to provide a sanitary receptacle for the cigar or cigarette-holder when the latter is not in use, and also for use as a lead pencil ofl the type involving a screw feed for thelead. As is well known to those familiar with the use of cigars and cigarettes, a holder is a desirable and necessary accessory, from various points of view, and the purpose of my invention is to provide such a case for the holder that may with convenience be carried inthe pocket and which also combines therewith a lead pencil, thus utilizin in the one article two devices' or articles t at are usually separated. By this combination of elements or articles both the cigarette-holder case and the lead pencil are readily accessible for use when needed and means are provided whereby the combined article may be retained in the pocket and occupy a mini.- mum of space therein for such art1cles.-

The case forms a sanitary receptacle or enclosure for the cigarette holder when not in use and at the same' time alsoforms a part of the pencil structure in affording the necessary length of the standard size of pencils.

The invention consists in certain 'novel combinations and arrangements of parts involving the pencil in which the cigaretteholder case is embodied as will hereinafter be more fully set forth and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings I have illustrated one complete example of the physical embodimentof my invention wherein the parts are combined and arranged in accordance with the best mode I have thus far devised for the practical application of the principles of myy invention. c

closed end in whichl an eraser as 2 is threaded. The eraser may be of rubber or composition-material and is used for erasing pencil marks etc. The cap lforms the cigaretteholder case and is provided with a sprin slip 3 of well known type by means of whic the combined article is retained in the pocket as usual. lWithin the case 1 is enclosed the cigarette-holder 4 which is of standard size and shape and manufactured of appropriate material with exterior screw threads 5 between' its body and the mouth-piece.

y The case 1 is fashioned with complementary, interior screw threads 6 for co-action with the exterior threads of the holder and it will be apparent that the holder is securedy in its case by means of the threaded engagement with the mouth-piece encased lin ,a reduced bore at its upper tapered end to lprovide an annular, interior shoulder .9

against which the head 10 of a magazinetube 11 snugly fits, and the head 10 as seen inFigure 1 also forms an abutment for' the outer open end kof the cigarette-holder.

At its lower end the magazine-tube is fashioned with an enlarged, circular head 12, and the lower end of the barrel enclosing the magazine-tube fits against this head 12.

To gain access to the magazine-tube for loading it or for withdrawing fresh leads therefrom, the wall of the tube is fashioned with a vertical slot 13 in which a slide gate or clip 14 is located. It `'will be understood .that the sleeve 20 is lfixed and the screw "18 and the lead 15 are movable with relation thereto to project or retract the lead 15.',The upper closed end 22 of the screw-holder or sleeve 2O projects lupwardly through the head 10 of the magazine tube, and on this closed end is fixed a ca 23 of suitable absorbent material asseen in igure 1 over-which the open outer end of the cigarette-holder slips and fits neatly.

When placed in osition in its case the ciga- .rette-holder is s ipped over this absorbent cap and this movement wipes the interior walls of the cigarette holder to clean them of nicotine or other accumulation in the' bore of the holder. t v
