WALL-CABINET HINGE.

My invention relates to wall cabinets particularly adapted for use in bath rooms, dressing rooms or the like.

-One of the objects of my invention is to provide a cabinet el'nbodying. double pivotally mounted mirrors which form closures for the cabinet, and which-when closed offers a very neat, finished appearance.

Another object of my invention is to provide a cabinet of the above mentioned charcabinet when the cabinet is shut.

A further object of my invention is to provide a cabinet of the above mentioned character embodying mountings comprising hinge pivots of simple construction, and which will permit a wide pivotal action of the mirrors so that they may be swung well out from the cabinet, and conveniently adjusted to provide oppositely disposed mirrors in which one may get an all round view of ones person. I

My invention possesses other objects and features of advanta e some of which, with the foregoing, will e set forth in the following description of my invention. It is to be understood that I do not limit myself to the showing made by the said descrip-" tion, as I may adopt variant forms of my invention within the scope of the claims.

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a front elevation of a cabinet constructed according to my invention. A portion of the figure is omitted to-reducc its length.

Figure 3- is a detail in vertical section taken on the line ,33 of Figure 1 and show ing the catchfor maintaining the doors in closed position Broadly stated my invention' comprises a casing to the open front of which is secured a frame. Mounted so as to normally form a closure for'the casing is a pair of mirrors of similar size and shape, and adapted when in closed position, to rest snugly against the front of the frame. The-mirrors are-pivot- .ally mounted in the casing by means of hovel hinge links disposed within the easing when the cabinet is shut. Each hinge link has a straight body ortion extending substantially the width of the mirror, and a pivot at each end of the bodyportion, extending at right angles thereto in the same direction and oflset from the body portion on opposite sides thereof. One pivot is mounted on the frame within the casing adj acent one edge of the mirror, and the other is connected to themirror adjacent the opposite edge thereof. By this means the mirrors may be swung well clear of the cabinet and arranged opposite each other in various angular relations, so that the user may readily-obtain an all round view of his person.

More specifically, my invention comprises a casing 2 preferably of sheet metal and. preferably-of a size adapted to 'fit between the studs of a wall. To the open front of the casing is secured, preferably by welding or riveting, a frame of angle iron, which extends around the entire opening of the-cabinet. The frame comprises vertical side face members 3 and 4 and horizontal top and bottom members 6land7 respectively, all of which combine to make a continuous front for the frame. The vertical members 3 and 4 are formed. with flanges 8 and 9 respectively; and. the horizontal members 6 and 7 with similar flanges l1 and 12 all of which flanges fit within the front of the casing,

and by which means the frame is secured to the casing. Secured to'the flanges 8 and 9 are hinge brackets'13, disposed one near the top and one near the bottom of each flange. Each of the brackets 13 is provided with a socket 14 in which is pivotally mounted a hinge link for supporting the casin closure. The hinge-links are all of similar shape and preferably formed of a I single length of metal'rod. Each'of thehihge-links comprises a straight body 16 having arms 17 and 18 disposed one, at each end thereof. The arms 17 and 18 are disposed at rightangles to the body 16 and extend in different directions therefrom. The ends of the arms 17 and 18 form parallel pivots 19 and 21- respectively which extend at right angles to said arms, and in the same direction. The pivots 21 seat in the sockets 14 thereby making a pivotal connection about which the hinge links maybe swung.
