i This inventioirrelates to necktie holders and has special reference to a necktie holder particularly adapted for use in connection with scarfs of the type generally known as four-in-hand, the same being the long scarf usually worn by men for dress in the morning and afternoon.

One important object of the invention is to improve the general construction of devices of this character.

A second important object. of the invention is to provide an improved necktie holder which is especially adapted for use With turn over collars, the holder being so constructed that itis adjustable to cause a necktie to fit properly on any height: of collar.

A third important object of the invention is to provide, in a necktie holder of this character, elastic means having an ad ustable tension so that the necktie can be caused to fit properly with reference to'the collar.

A fourth important object of this invention is to provide an improved bendable wire frame for a made up necktie.

In the embodiment of the invention here illustrated the tie is shown at T. This'tie is made up over a wire frame 10 properly shaped, as shown in Figure 6 and this frame vmay be bent to suit the size of thecollar so that the tie may fit any size neck without either bulging the collar outwardly or pressing it in against the neck. At the top portion of the tie between the legs of the frame stretched so as to, hold the necktie 1O isl se'cured a plate having a nain portion llandoffset ends 12 provided with eyes by which it is sewed to the tie. This plate is provided with an elongated slot 14; of proper size to permit the passage ofthe head of a collar button 15, this being the ing in itself no part of the invention, although it cooperates therewith. Slidably mounted on the plate 11 is aslide '16 the side edges of which arebent around the plate so as to hold theslide thereon. This slide is provided with a slot 17 the lower end of which is wide enough to permit the passage of the head of the button 15, While the upper end is so reduced in size that the shank of the button fits closely therein and thus the head cannot pull out. At the lower end of this slide is a cross bar 18 around which is laidor otherwise fastened, as may be found desirable, a strip of elastic webbing 19whic'h passes, down the plate 11 and hangs below the lower, end thereof. On the lower end ofthe plate 11 is a pair of cars 20 wherein is pivoted a clasp 21 of the ordinary type. The

It is obvious that minor changes maybe made in the form and construction of the I invention without departing from the material spirit thereof. It. is not, therefore,

desired to confine the invention to the. exact form herein shown and described, but it is desired to include all such as properly come within the scope claimed.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is: I 1. In a device of the kind described, a plate adapted to be secured to the rear upper portion of a necktie, a slide mounted to slide on said plate and provided with a collar button engaging slot, elastic means urging said slide toward the lower end of said plate; and

. a means to regulate the length of said elastic means.
