Description
UNITED STATES PATENT oFFlcE.
JOSEPH LESQUENDIEU, OF PARIS, FRANCE, ASSIGNOR TO J'. LESQUENDIEU INC., 0F NEW YORK, N. Y., A CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
Box son SALVE on CREAM.
Application led January 4, 1927, Serial No. 158,966, and in France June 16, 195136.y
like may be applied without any particular operation and without it being necessaryto soil or Stain the lingers.
It may be constructed of any suitable material such as metal, wood, ebonite, galalith and so forth.
In the accompanying drawing there is illustrated a section and underside plan of one form of construction solely by way of example and to which the invention is not limited as any other suitable shape may be adopted.
The box hereinafter described constitutes a clearly defined new industrial product.
The bod of the box 1 is provided with a central tu ular space 2 endin ends with internally threade and 4. i
With the lower screw threaded portion 3 engages a plu 5 forming a cup 6 which latter is adapte to be advanced in the hollow space 2, by screwing in the plug 5. Into the cup is placed the salve, cream orV the like. The screw of the portion 3 is made as eas as possible so that by means of a` groove in the, outer surface of the plug 5 it is possible to turn this plug by means of the lingernail and to cause it to rise inthe box 1.
With the screw threaded portion 4 engages a Stopper 8. In addition to forming a closure for the space 2, this stopper is provided on its lower face with a preferably spherical pro'ection 9. The projection and stopper may e of two separate parts or in two parts suitably connected together. The projection 9 is referably covered with pliant leather so that the surface thereof may be used. It will be readily seen that when the Stopper 8 is placed in position on the box, that if the plug 5 is caused to rise in the box the projection 9' will be coated, by reason of the rotation and ressure, with a layer of the cream or the li e contained in portions 3 at its two the cu B unscrewing the plug and holding th1sth1s coating may be ap lied as de- `sired on the lips, cheeks and so orth.
The cream or the like is brought lnto the required osition from time to time by screwingthe p ug 5 into the box.
o precaution is necessary to prevent vthe fingers from coming into contact with the cream at any time.
Having thus described my invention, what Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A box ofthe character described comprising a tubular member screw threaded at oth ends, a plug screwed into one end of Said tubular member, a. cup adapted to contain salve, cream or the like formed integral .with said plu a stopper adapted to be Screwed into t ecother end of the tubular member, and a llcator means on the stopper cooperating wit the contents of the cup.
2. A box of the character.v described comprising a tubular member screw threaded at both ends,r a plu screwed into one end of said tubular mem er, a cup adapted to contain salve,-cream or the like formed integral with said plug, and a stopper adapted to be screwed into the other end of the tubular member, and a projection formed on said stopper and adapted normall to be in engagement with the contents o said cup.
3. A box of the character described comprising a tubular member screw threaded at oth ends, a plu screwed into o ne end of said tubular mem er, a cup adapted to contain salve, cream or the like formed integral with Said plug, and a stopper adapted to be screwed into the other end of the tubular member, a spherical projection formed on said stopper, and a layer of liant leather fitted over said projection, sai plug having a diametrical groove for facilitatlng its turning in the screw thread.
JOSEPH LESQUENDIEU.
