This invention relates to a method .of fixing rails for supporting heavy wheel-loads on iron, 'wooden or concret-e sleepers.

f The fixing bolts f are made in the form of T-headedbolts. The head is either rectangular or trapezoidal. Preferably the head a 1 of the bolts has a curved bearing surface as nshown in Figure 4. In the latter case the recesses in the ribs of the sole plate need only be very low so that the ribs themselves and the entire plate will be relatively low.
