" Appiication filed a'anua zs, 192 Serial re eases; I
.This invention relates -generally to a 1 laundry orv-dry-cleaners ironing table, and,
has more particular reference'to a'garme'nt tray therefor, the primary object of the invention: being the provision of a simple and inexpensive means whereby a garment being ironed or pressed will be kept from contact with the floor, and atthe same time maintained withln easy reach of the op-er-V ator for proper disposition upon the board of the table during the ironing operation. 0
An additional object of the'invention is,
to provide such a tray that may be moved to the desired position with respect to the board, the same being obviously supported beneath the board in order that the garment may be caught therein. i I
With the foregoing and other objects in viewas the nature of the invention will be better understood, the same comprises the novel form, combination, and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described,
shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed. I y
In the drawlng wherein like reference characters indlcate corresponding parts the tray supporting arm comprising the essential part of the present invention.
Now having particular 'reference to the drawing, the ironing board indicated at 5 which is of the conventional construction is supported by attachment atone end to the usual'pedestal 6.
In carrying out my invention, said-pedestal 6 is provided upon its inner edge and adjacent its lower endwith a boss 7, pro
vided in its top side with a socket, for a purpose hereinafter to be more fully described. Said pedestal 6 is also provided on the same edge and at a point above said boss with a threaded opening 8 for receiving the threaded end of a horizontally ex-q tending eye bolt 9 throughthe eyed end of which extends the upper threaded end of a vertical bar 10 that comprises a portion of a relatively triangular shaped tray supportng framehll. 1 The. lower end of this bar," cngageswithin the socket of the boss 7 for permitting the swinging of thefraine beneath the board 5. Said frame 11 further providedwithan opening 13 through which projects the upper end of the member 10, w a said member being provided adjacent its upper end with an integral collar 1411601 constitutes the provision of a horizontally extending flatbar or arm 12, one end of which is enlarged and" limiting the downward movement of thead 4 jacent' end ofwthe'bar or arm upon said member, saidbar 12 being secured 'to the member 10 through the medium of a wing nut 15, Figure'l, Said wing nut also serving as a means for locking the frame in desired position beneath the board 5;
Interconnecting the members 10 and 12 is a brace rod- 16, Figuresl and 3. V
The outer end of the flatbar or arm 12 is longitudinally slotted at 17 and adapted to be supported by said bar or arm is a rectangular shaped tray 18; of slightly] greater width than the board5. Pendent from the central portion of the tray 18 isa threaded bolt 19 that extends through the slot 17 0f the bar orarm 12 and adapted to have threadedthereon a wing nut 20, it being obvious that said tray may be longitudinally adjusted upon its support as well as turned thereon to meet the necessary requirement,
It will be'apparent that Ihave provided a highly novel, simple and eflicientform of garment tray for laundry or dry cleaners I ment hanging from the board and-prevent the engagement of the same upon the. floor of the building,'and permit ofv theready withdrawal of the same from .thetray f 1 I redisposition essary,
Minor "changes may be made in the invention withoutdeparting from the spirit'and scope of the appended claims,
upon the board whenever nec I claim as new and desire to secure byfLet ters' Patent is 1. In a garment supporting devicefor an ironing table, wherein the latter includes a board, and a supporting pedestal, a substanboards that willeifectively receive the gar:
Having thus describedthe invention, what tially triangular shaped frame arranged be neath the board, and comprising a horizontal arm, a vertical rod, and a brace extending between the arm-and the rod, said vertical 7 j I rodbeingpivotally supported on the pedestal whereby the frame is adapted to be swung in a horizontal plane, and a tray I supported on-the horizontal arm of the sup: 5 porting frame. 1 I
2. In a garment supporting-device. for an ironing table wherein the latter includes a board, and a supportingpedestal; sub.stan-- tially triangular shaped frame arranged behorizontal plane; and a tray adj ustable longi- V 15 tudinall'y' on the" horizontal arm of said 8. In a garment supporting device foran, ironingtable, wherein the latter includes a boardpan-d asi pporting pedesta1,j a horizon- 2 0 tal .arni pivotally siipported ,at one end 011 the" pedestal beneath'l'the board, and a tray adjustable longitudinally on said arm, said tray being adapted to be swung :Wlth said 7 arm to or from a position'beneaththe board. 5 In test mony whereof I afiiX mysignature;
